Bosch Academy:

The Bosch Academy allows to participants to get trained via 3 different ways:

Classroom courses

Classroom courses are normally run at one of our Bosch facilities otherwise private courses can

be arranged. In the course description you will be able to see the location and the dates of our

seminars, please click the register button to select a date. Enjoy the discussion with our skilled

trainers, practice what you have heard in the hands-on sessions and use the opportunity to talk

with your fellow students.

Web based trainings

Our Web based trainings are online courses where you can complete the modules and classes

at your own speed. Just start wherever and whenever you like, pause when necessary and

continue when you find time. The test at the end will give you feedback which is great opportunity

to repeat the learned material. You can find these courses in the Online Classes folders.

Virtual Classroom

Our Virtual Classrooms are a great opportunity to learn more on a specific topic. They are live

trainings via the internet. All you need is a computer, reliable internet access and a headset or

computer speakers. Here there is no travel needed, simply sign up for the webinars on the home

page, and you will be contacted within 1-2 business days by the trainer.

Prerequisites:

Participants that plan to be part of this training should have basic knowledge in IT: Networking,

storage, they will need to complete some online modules before being accepted into the

classroom session.

1. IP Cameras hands on:

Content :

In the first part of the training we do the physical installation:

Camera wall and ceiling mounting

Assemble dome camera housing

Connecting AC power, DC power and power over Ethernet

Connecting wired and wireless network

Basic configuration by camera menu

In the second part of the training we do the web based configuration (among a lot of other

things):

Configure Time syncing

Positioning lens and sensor by Lens Wizard

Setting proper scene and ALC mode

Enhance the image

Configure and set the encoder profiles

Configure Focus and Zoom settings for Autodome

Configure PTZ settings for Autodome

Alarm configuration

Network management

Service and maintenance

2. IP Recording hands on:

Content :

For each of the different recording types we configure the recordings with the most appropriate

settings:

Local recording by web based settings

DIP 2000/5000 by wizard and web based configuration

DIP 3000 by wizard and Config Client basic configuration

Divar Network by local and web based configuration (optional)

The following specific recording settings will be covered (among others):

Continuous or Alarm based recording

Recording schedules and profiles

Backup, Recovery and Factory defaulting

Event and Alarm configuration

During this training we will setup, configure and test both video analytics types with different

camera types (Box, Dome, PTZ and Panoramic).

We will cover the following configuration options:

1. BVMS Expert level:

Overview:

Prerequisites :

Participants that plan to be part of this training should have basic knowledge in IT: Networking,

storage, they will need to complete some online modules before being accepted into the

classroom session

Content:

BVMS technical overview and main components (MS, VRM, Operator and Configuration

Client)

Installation, time synchronization of system components and license activation

Configuration Client: Overview, initial device configuration (cameras, monitor walls and

other devices)

Configuration Client: Logical Tree, schedules, streams and configuration of recording

Configuration Client: Events and alarm handling, user groups and permissions

Video Recording Manager (VRM) fundamentals and detailed configuration

Overview of Bosch iSCSI storage arrays in Bosch VMS environment

Usage of Operator Client features in detail

System design overview: Requirements, licensing options, scalability, resilience and

storage estimation

Operation and maintenance: Recording monitoring, system backup and configuration

collector

Note:

Every lesson includes practical hands-on exercises.

After the training the successful completion of the online exam is mandatory in order to

receive the Bosch VMS Expert Level certificate.
