The metal processing sector has an important
place in the industry of Laktasi Municipality with a
highest number of workers and among the
leading industrial sectors by profit. It is
characterized by the production tailored to the

WOOD PROCESSING
Tradition in the wood processing industry with its
considerable forest potentials and trained
workforce represents a significant opportunity for
investing in the municipality.
There are two clearly distinct areas of forest
vegetation structure: lowland forests and hilly
forests. The average stock of wood in Laktasi is 144
m³, which is quite less than the average stock in the
Republic of Srpska.
Some of the government-owned forests are managed by the Public Forest Management Company "Šume
Republike Srpske" a.d. Sokolac, through the Forestry Authority "Banja Luka," part of which is the Forestry
Office Laktasi. In the structure of the government-owned forests, tall naturally renewable forests account for
65%, planted forests 11%, coppice (low) forests 20%, and area suitable for afforestation 4%.
Laktasi Municipality also has considerable nursery capacities with afforestation tree seeds and horticultural
seedlings.

AGRICULTURE
Agricultural land in the municipality covers more than
25,000 hectares, 88% of which is plowland and the rest
accounts for orchards and meadows. Vineyards with
about 100,000 vine stems occupy an insignificant
portion of the land.
Taking the above into account along with a favorable
climate, the tradition, the fact that two-thirds of the
households in the municipality are agricultural,
agricultural development is then one of the most
important priorities for the future.
The most cultivated crops are arable and vegetable
crops. Maize is the main crop, followed by wheat and
barley, and some oat, soya, and fodder. Potato, onion,
cabbage, bell pepper, and watermelon dominate
among the vegetables. Plum prevails among the fruit,
followed by cherry and apple. Area under orchards
keeps growing, and increasing attention is paid to
vineyard planting.
Considerable opportunities for cattle production are not utilized enough. Rural households are mostly engaged in pig
breeding and milk production for the market.
In the past period, Laktasi Municipality has achieved a high level of agricultural primary production, so agricultural
production accounts for about 10% in the total municipal revenues.
Using the concept of comprehensive development of Laktasi Municipality, in the next period we would like to create
conditions for new food industry investments in buying and processing wholesale agricultural produce to make
products with an added value, thus achieving a higher degree of finalization and secure the sale of produce of the
agricultural primary producers.
TOURISM
Laktasi Slatina spas with thermal mineral water have a
several decades old tourist tradition in treating
rheumatic, heart, eye, bloodstream, and other
diseases. The nearby hotels with pools, healing baths,
and all necessary treatment amenities provide full
services in health and recreational tourism.
Among numerous archeological sites, left by the
turbulent municipal history as cultural and historical
heritage, it is worth visiting remains of medieval
tombstones on the site of Osoje, an 18th-century
"Wooden Church" near Slatina, and the remains of
Roman thermal baths on the site of Zidine, Laktasi.

Agro Voće d.o.o. is a company established in 2008. Its core business is fruit production – plums and pears.
Its orchard in the village Bakinci covers about 100 ha on the Kozara mountain slopes. This region has excellent conditions for fruit growing. A favorable environment enables high and stable crops.

As a then young and perspective company, we signed the first contract with IVECO SpA on the sale of vehicles and spare parts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After three years of successful sale of IVECO vehicles, a need arose to have a quality service station in this field. Seven months later, when the construction was finished, we entered the most modern service facility for IVECO vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "Pristaš" is a private fur store founded by Mihal Pristaš in 1984 and based in Trn, Laktasi. Its core business at first involved making of fur clothes and accessories, which its founder started. The manufacturing was expanded to leather products in early 1990s along with an increase in the number of employees. Despite the difficult circumstances during the war period in Bosnia, the fur store "Prstaš" persisted in achieving its main goal, which is clients' satisfaction with high quality standards.
