From LArtiga de Linto Cth deth Hro ON FOOT:VERY DIFFICULT / DISTANCE:6 km / DURATION:3 h 45 min

This route takes us through the Jou River Valley, a delightful natural environmfeaturing thick forests and Alpine meadows in the highest parts. As we ascend Cdeth Hro, facing Mount Maladeta, we can enjoy spectacular panoramic views.

To get to the starting point for this route, leave Vielha on the N-230 road towarFrance. On reaching Les Brdes, turn off to the left, crossing the village and takingtrack that leads to LArtiga de Lin. On the way, we see the Sanctuary of La Mair dedera Artiga on the right. You can park near the cabins and the mountain refuge.

The surroundings of hazel, oak and fir are a delight to see. Beforesetting out, visit the Uelhs deth Jou, a spectacular waterfall formedby melting water from the glaciers on Mount Aneto.

We set out from the refuge along the path south. After a hike of two and a quarter hours we reach fabulous Lake Deth Hro (bullin Aranese), lying in an outstanding natural beauty spot. Next,we ascend Cth deth Hro, overlooking the Escaleta Valley, from
