Cat® Extended Oil Drain Intervals For Diesel 3500 Series Standby Generator Sets

Protect Your Environment–Reduce Oil WasteTogether Caterpillar and Cat Dealers are helping to protect your environment by offering extended oil change intervals on 3500 standby generator sets. Customers participating in a Customer Support Agreement (CSA) through their local Cat Dealer have the option to triple their oil drain intervals, thus reducing waste oil disposal by 67%.

In addition to protecting your environment, this optional extended oil drain program provides value to customers using Cat® generator sets by lowering maintenance costs. This supports the on-going sustainability efforts of Caterpillar.

Detailed Requirements

The extended drain intervals option is available to customers whose diesel 3500 series standby generator set is enrolled in a Cat Dealer CSA that includes the following:

– Cat® diesel engine oil – changed every 36 months (or 500 hrs.) – Cat engine oil filters – changed every 12 months – Cat fuel filters – changed every 12 months – Cat air filters – Distillate diesel fuel – Cat diesel engine coolant – Use of Cat S•O•S Services Oil Analysis Program

• Note–biodiesel,heavyfueloil,residualfuel,crudeoil and blended fuel cannot be used with this extended oil drain program.

• Fuelstorageandmaintenancepracticesmustbeusedthat meet or exceed the recommendations as published in the most current revision of “Caterpillar Commercial Diesel Engine FluidsRecommendations.”

• Thestandardoildraininterval,asdefinedintheowning and operating guide for Cat D3500 standby gensets, is one year. The extended oil drain program gives you the option to extend the interval to three years or 500 hours, whichever comes first.
