Lakewood, CO ‐ April 14, 2011 ‐‐ "Tails of the Painted Cats," the exciting 30th Anniversary Art Event
Fundraiser for the shelter cats at the Cat Care Society (CCS), are now on display at Santa Fe Art District
Galleries through April 30. The announcement is made by Shari Shiffer-Krieger, CCS Executive Director, who
says the exhibit includes 16 painted fiberglass cats, each about 28" tall and painted a different theme by local
artists.
"Some of our Painted Cats are standing, and some are sitting, but they are all unique, original decorator pieces. Many
organizations across the country have done various 'critter' art projects over the years with great success, so we decided
this would be the perfect 30th Anniversary Fundraising Event to benefit our shelter cats here in Denver," Shiffer‐Krieger
explains. Visit the Painted Cats Online Gallery to view each cat and their special story:

About the Cat Care Society
The CCS, founded in 1981 by Linda East, DVM and Lynn Rowe, is a nonprofit organization established to improve the quality of life
for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area. The Society's goals are:
To sponsor educational programs that promote responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of all animals, and the
elimination of pet overpopulation;
To shelter cats in a healthy, cage free environment and to find compatible and responsible families for every cat;
To provide community outreach programs that improve the quality of life for cats and people;
To be a friend to all cats.
The CCS is supported by a number of loyal members and contributors, without whom the shelter could not operate. CCS receives no
government funding. In addition, CCS volunteers assist with many fundraising activities each year such as book sales, Meow Mart,
Cajun’s Closet Thrift Store, the holiday gift and bake sale and much more. For more information, visit
