Photos: Island photographer, Rebecca Douglas, (of the Dream Boats calendar fame) will take photos for free again this year of children in costume. 4 to 7 p.m. at Café Luna.
Celebrate Indoor Plumbing:
The Village Green Restroom will have its grand
openings. 5 p.m. at the Village Green.
Trick or Treat:
The main highway will close down-
town, making it safe for goblins to
roam for treats or tricks at Island
merchants between 5 and 7 p.m. Dur-
ing those hours, a costume contest
will be judged by Vashon Island Fire
& Rescue Explorers in the U.S. Bank
parking lot. Vashon Park District will
be open at the north end of town
for Halloween revellers. At 7 p.m.
VashonBePrepared will draw the
survey ra� e winners.
Dance PartyVIBE Conscious Groove Dance Party will host a Halloween
dance, with hip-hop, reggae, world beat and more. The cost is
$5 to $10 on a sliding scale. Island photographer Harvey Bergman
will take photos. See www.vibe-dance.wordpress.com. 9 p.m. to midnight at the Vashon Dance Academy.
Movie The Vashon Youth Council will show “The Nightmare Before Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. at Ober Park. Treats and poporn will be served for free, but donations will be welcomed. For more information, see www.vashonyouthcouncil.org.

The group will perform at the

Walk on sidewalks and driveways.
Cross the street at the corner or in a crosswalk.
Take a cellular phone with you if possible.

it’s a great way to learn how tostay safe and have a ghostly good time!
Here are the rules:Use a coin, a piece of candy or some other small item
as your playing piece. If more than one person is playing,decide who goes �rst. Put your playing piece on start.
Use dice or playing cards to �nd out how many spaces to move.Read the Halloween safety tips as you move around the
board, and follow the directions on the squares. The �rst player to reach the jack-o’-lantern at the end
is the WINNER!
