In short, it brings the entire world together at one place, interacting and communicating via the Internet.Lets not forget about the countless applications and advantages of the Virtual world. From corporate world to marketing, hospitality to education, entertainment to politics; in the new era social media is the most widely adapted, cheap and effective way used by individuals to flourish in their respective work spheres. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram; and an endless number of social networking sites are widely used these days, especially influencing youngsters.

Facilitates open communication. Allows employees to discuss ideas, post news, share links. provides an opportunity to widen business contacts. Targets a wide audience and improves business reputation.
Disadvantages:
Opens up the possibility for hackers to commit fraud. Increases the risk of people falling prey to online scams. Potentially results in lost productivity, especially if employees are busy updating profiles, etc. Provides examples of policy violations.
