Project:The Ford Motor Company is the second largestmanufacturer of cars and trucks worldwide. It has branchesin over 40 countries, 114 production plants and more than350 000 employees.The new Ford plant Camaçari, one of the largest Fordproduction facilities, was built in record time of only twoyears on a 4.7 million m² site near the Brazilian city ofSalvador and represents an investment of 1.9 billion USdollars. The plant has a production capacity of 250 000cars per year, which means that a car rolls off the finishingline every 80 seconds. For a start, the new Ford Fiesta wasproduced here.

Installation:The planning office Zarcos Engenharia specifiedAF/Armaflex for insulating the chilled-water pipes of the air-conditioning system and the paint shop. A total of 11 000 mof AF/Armaflex tubes were used. The galvanized steelpipes with outer diameters of 12, 14, 16 and 18 mm wereinsulated by the contractors Servtec, Durr and Temp Set.Before work began the insulators were trained by Armacellemployees in the correct installation of Armaflex.
