Application Success Stories
Company Profile This Midwestern United States manufacturer started out as a fabricator of metal products for the building construction industry. Today they produce a variety of products for the construction, architectural, agricultural, and general metals industries. Although headquartered in the upper Midwest, they have multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the US and in Mexico.
Company Expectations Production requirements were pressuring this company to improve upon the operational performance of one of their existing lines. Their objective was to reduce powder consumption thru reclaim color change flexibility. Improving material utilization thru automation and reducing manual operator inconsistencies were a primary considerations to justify the project moving forward.
Keys to Success The solution was to install a Gema quick color change system, MagicCompact Equiflow. This line included manual and automatic guns; and a powder management center increasing flexibility and performance. Results have shown improved color flexibility, better material utilization, coating quality and reduced rejects. Additional support to this manufacturer is provided by Gema’s ServiceNet group and Gema distributor, American Industrial (AIC).
