Legal ComplianceAAP Update: Inside What the OFCCP Is Really Up To

This update is targeted at federal contractors and subcontractors subject to OFCCP regulations who already have completed Affi rmative Action Plans in place, but need a refresher on what should be done in order to be in compliance. Hint: If your AAP is collecting dust on a shelf, watch out. Not only will this session get you prepared for what you need to do to maintain compliance annually, it will also give you the inside scoop about what the OFCCP is asking for and looking at during audits. You will leave with a list of “do's and don'ts” and tips on surviving an audit.

Documentation can either save or bury you. It’s not enough to just write something down. What’s written down must be timely, accurate, factual, clear and concise. Just as important as the documentation are the processes leading up to it. Build your confi dence and manage risk when it comes to effective discipline and documentation. Key learning points include: steps in positive and effective discipline; what, when, why and how to document effectively; and, do's and and don'ts of discipline and documentation.

Employer Briefi ng: The New Hazard Communicationand GHS Requirements

In March 2012, OSHA modifi ed the Hazard Communication Standard to include the classifi cations established by the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classifying chemical hazards. Employees not only have the right to know, but also the right to understand the hazards associated with the chemicals they are exposed to, and how to control them. This briefi ng will provide an overview of the new hazard communication program requirements and how to comply with GHS.

Basic Medic First Aid® and AED

Participants who complete this workshop will receive a successful certifi cation card in CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and fi rst aid. The program meets OSHA requirements for the states of Oregon and Washington. This workshop will include training in basic skills and basic AED (automated external defi brillator) operation.

Reasonable Suspicion Training

All supervisors and managers need to know how to recognize the signs and symptoms of and effectively respond to drug and alcohol use. Key learning points include: elements of reasonable suspicion; observing signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol use and abuse; how to document, approach employees and arrange for reasonable suspicion tests; and, avoiding the most common mistakes.
