5 Interesting Entertainment Ideas for Cartoon Themed Birthday Parties Wouldn’t life be a whole lot easier if all you had to do for a cartoon themed birthday party was to
play your child’s favorite cartoon video and get all his friends to watch it?! The reality is that it
takes a lot of effort to keep children entertained at birthday parties. Depending on the age group
of your child and the cartoon characters that he likes, here are some ideas.
Live Characters
Younger children will particularly enjoy a cartoon character making an appearance at their
birthday parties. You can make your child feel special by hiring an entertainer to dress up as
their favorite character and greet everyone at the party. You could also get him to perform a
small show or tell a few jokes to make the kids laugh.
Mask Making
Get some craft supplies together or get your party organizer to find a person who can come in to
assist the children in making masks of their choice or from a selection of cartoon characters.
This could get messy if it involves paints, so plan for aprons or restrict the colours to washable
crayons.
Face Painting
Hire a professional face painter who can transform the faces of your child and his friends to that
of their favourite cartoon characters. Depending on the number of children and the skill and
speed of the artist, you might want to hire a team to prevent long queues at the face painting
section.
Cartoon Themed Games & Rides
Some party organizers have cartoon themed party games and rides such as Scooby Doo
basketball hoops, Mickey Mouse inflatable splash pools or Disney Princess train rides. Find an
ageappropriate game or ride for your child. Of course, you could also hire an organizer to help
you customize regular party games such as ‘pin the tail’ or ‘ring toss’ to feature cut outs of your
child’s favorite cartoon characters.
Dress Up Costumes
This would be a big hit for girls’ birthday parties. For younger girls, hire or buy accessories such
as crowns, tiaras, beads, wands, tutus or gowns, and watch the excited little princesses strut
around in their finery. For tweens and teens, a makeup artist who prepares them for a photo
shoot (with their portfolio pictures on a CD as a return present) dressed like stars, would work
just as nicely.
Working with a creative party organizer can throw up many more ideas for making a cartoon
themed birthday party memorable. Make sure that you plan for games and entertainment that
can be accommodated in the party venue so that it doesn’t get too crowded.
