LETTER FROM THE BOARD

The Carson Glore Foundation was created to carry on the legacy of Carson, a child who had a dream of becoming a teacher with his friend when they grew up, but in 1993, he was lost too soon. Losing him so young affected hundreds of people, so the hope of his foundation is to positively affect many more.

We are all living proof of the importance of good education. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world has the same opportunities as we did. Last year, we were able to make an impact with just 82 days of fundraising by opening The Carson Glore Classrooms in Kenya; changing the lives of a community forever. At the opening ceremony it became crystal clear... there is much more work to be done.

Because the support was so overwhelming, we believed we could successfully turn it from a one-time effort, into a foundation that will continue what we started. In our first year as a Foundation, we have high yet realistic goals. It is your support that gives us hope - and it is the students and families we met that make us believe that we can make a difference.

Thank you in advance for your support. One step at a time, we can work together to improve the quality of life through education.

We look forward to serving you! The Carson Glore Board

WHAT WE NEED TO DO: 2012PHASE TWO OF THE CARSON GLORE SCHOOL, KENYAWhile 2011 offered the community of Kamuya a great start to improved education, our visit there showed one thing - they need more help. In 2012, through our partnership with Build Africa, we have committed to fulfilling the final needs of the school, at which time, they will be able to be self-sustainable within their own community and run the school properly going forward.

NEEDS • 2 New Classrooms and construction coordination costs • 50 Desks, 600 female sanitary towels, teachers desks & sports equipment • 3 water tanks with water collections off guttering around classrooms • Education quality: Teacher training workshops, management committee, performance management & training in child protection • Health & well being: HIV & AIDS related education and programs • Build Africa’s Project management, monitoring, evaluation and supportive costs

Two new classrooms will complete the seven classrooms needed for the 380 student school.

Three 10,000 liter water tanks and

guttering system will collect rain, providing

the school with a water source currently not

available.

HOW WE PLAN TO RAISE ITWE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORTWe know we can’t do it without you. In 2011, people gave big. Much bigger than we could have ever expected and it is our dream that people can find it in their giving budget again.

As our needed budget has grown, we have also grown our scope in fundraising efforts. In addition to continuing last year’s successes of individual fundraising, silent auction and online item sales, we are adding a few other areas to make up for the needed difference to grow our foundation to have a successful 2012. We will be reaching out for corporate donations, community and school fundraisers and an even bigger silent auction this fall.
