Description of Project Show ending fund balances (carry forward) by fund,

org, program, activity, and location Carry forward is currently at the fund level only Allows departments to view the carry forward

balances for individual FOAPALs Allows for greater transparency and assists in

budgeting carry forward balances

Method of allocation Departments asked to allocate beginning fiscal 2009

fund balances to FOAPALs Banner entry made by Accounting Services to record

calculated ending fiscal 2009 fund balances to account E001

Account E001 titled “Prior year carry forward” E001 appears as an additional budgeted expenditure

amount available for spending in current fiscal year

Status of Project

Banner entry recorded during November 2009 Carry forward balances will appear on

November month end reports FBBS02 report currently shows carry forward

balances Additional reports may be created upon

request and user needs

Next Steps Post entry to Banner Obtain input from users as to what information and

in what format is needed on reports Work with ADMCS to modify reports if needed Conduct information sessions on carry forward

balances, changes to reports, and how the information can be used
