Welcome to the twelfth annual Carrboro Music Festival!
Take a walk around town on Sunday, September 20 and enjoy a day jam-packed full of music. You can hear Hip-Hop, Country, Blues, Rock, Celtic, World Music, Bluegrass and Jazz- and all within the four or five blocks of downtown Carrboro. This is one heck of a small town!
Thanks to the Mayor and the Board of Alderman for their continuing support and the various Carrboro Departments who make this possible: Recreation and Parks, Public Works, and the Police and Fire Departments.

Volunteer on Festival Day!
Want to be a part of this incred-ible community event? You can do that while making new friends or hanging out with old friends. There are numerous types of jobs to be done. Help backstage, assist in traf-fic direction and parking or work at an information table. Those are but a few of the ways you can help while still hearing an awful lot of music.
Students can receive service learning hours while all volunteers will get a free festival T-shirt, a free raffle ticket and a free pass to any regularly scheduled program at DSI Comedy Theater. Check out the volunteer page at our website, car-rboromusicfestival.com.

Posters, raffle Tickets and T-shirts
Festival founding member and musi-cian Janet Place has created a special design for this year’s 12th annual Car-rboro Music Festival. We have incorpo-rated it into commemorative posters and T-shirts, and both can be purchased at all three of the information tables for $10. The tables will be up and running from 1 to 6 p.m.
Tickets for our annual raffle — which not only seems to have something for just about everyone but also a greater chance of winning than just about any raffle you’ll ever see — also can be purchased at those tables. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Winning tickets will be drawn in the week following the event and winners will be notified by phone.
The information tables are at the fol-lowing locations:
Town HallThe Century Center
(Weaver Street side)Weaver Street Market lawn
Foul-Weather PlanTen of the 23 venues are inside, so they will continue, rain or shine. In the
case of a possible day-long rain, the Festival Committee and the police and Public Works will make a decision concerning the viability of the outside venues. That decision will be made well before noon on event day. The only real possibilities for moving an outdoor venue inside are: Weaver Street Mar-ket moving into Room 2/3 in the Century Center and the Town Commons site moving into the Town Hall boardroom. Other outdoor venues will most likely be canceled.

Children’s ActivitiesThe Town Commons will again feature activi-
ties for kids. A 20-foot-high Scramble Slide and the 55-foot-long Cameron the Caterpillar will give youngsters plenty of exercise. The Scrap Exchange will provide materials and trained staff to supply a fun, educational, hands-on creative arts experience. Crafts booths and specialty-food vendors will be in the area around Town Hall – check them out! All of these activities are still right next to the Town Commons stage, where six wonderful bands will provide the music – so you’ll not miss a note.
