The Carnival of Venice is one of the most expected happening in the Lagoon and one of the most well-known events around the world thanks to its timeless charme for centuries.

Since its origin, during the Carnival period, the activities and affairs of the Venetians faded into the background, and they spent the majority of their time celebrating, having fun, jokes, entertainment and events that were set up throughout the city, and in the mansions of the magnificent Venetian palaces harbored grandiose and long partieswith sumptuous masked balls.

The first appointment to celebrate the famous Carnival of Venice in the elegant atmosphere of Baglioni Hotel Luna, just a few steps from St. Mark’s Square, is “Moon Masquerade”,

The appointment is Saturday 18th February 2017 at 7.00 pm in the warm atmosphere of our Fireplace Room: our Masters of House Arlecchino, Pantalone & Colombina are awaiting you for our exclusive Welcome cocktail where you can savour the typical Venetian canapès served with the wellknown Bellini and Rossini cocktails.

Starting from 08.00 pm the evening will continue in the marvellous Marco Polo Ballroom, a real artistic jewel with the original frescoes of the XVIII Century of the School of Tiepolo, where our Chef Daniele will surprise you with a refined Carnival dinner. During the dinner, you will have the chance to experience the real Venetian life back to XVIII Century and our top-level artists will involve you in the comic parodies of the Venetian Art Commedy with the most renowned and funny Carnival characters.

The evening will continue with the music of our DJ: International Covers, rock and latin dance, the great ’70s & ’80s.

Grand Carnival Ball with Giacomo Casanova

An exclusive appointment is waiting for you at Baglioni Hotel Luna, the most ancient Hotel in town, to celebrate the Carnival of Venice with our special guest: Giacomo Casanova, the most famous Venetian charmer!!

The appointment will be at 7.00 pm in the warm atmosphere of our Fireplace Room for a Welcome Cocktail: just in front of the warm lighted-on fireplace you will savor the typical Venetian Canapès while sipping the renown Bellini and Rossini Cocktails, created for you, by our Barman. During the cocktail you will be welcomed by our comic Masks “Arlecchino, Colombina & Pantalone” with their screamingly funny sketch.

ATELIER FLAVIA During the Carnival period, Baglioni Hotel Luna will host the prestigious Atelier Flavia, where you can rent and purchase exclusive Costume d’Epoque and papier-machè masks. All their creations are made in the respect of the Venetian tradition: from the completely handmade masks in papier-machè, according to the tradition of the Venetian “mascareri”, to the historical costumes created with precious cloth, such as brocade and pure silk, selected among the best local weavers, and the particular accessories which are really important to the Carnival in a true Venetian style.

The Atelier Flavia will be available on the second floor of Baglioni Hotel Luna.
