This year, we thought it would be awesome to bring the WHOLE club together under one theme:  Mad Max - 'PPSLSC Brothers in Arms'

Think 'post apocalyptic /scrap heap challenge /lord of the fly’s' sort of thing!

COSTUMES

Either make at home or come along to a costume workshop on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July at the Club 2 -4 pm with Holly & Mick

OLDER NIPPERS (10 -13 yrs.) - JUNK BAND DRUMMERS

Playing along to the following track (Brothers in Arms), which will be on a loop (and VERY LOUD!)

The drummers would need to be able to keep time (not very hard!). The drums can be old bin lids, containers, and barrels etc. anything you may have. Dress up as the ‘baddies’ in crazy

junk clothing, mad punk wigs, dark masks, goggles

YOUNGER NIPPERS (7 – 9yrs and younger siblings!) – The INNOCENT children

We want white faces, rag clothing, white swim hats and dark eyes (they are the prisoners!)

Sat in the 2 surf boats which are towed behind the club truck and Mad Max’s car

SENIORS, ROWERS, YOUTH & OLDER NIPPERS & DAD’s

The Seniors, older Nippers and anyone else who isn’t  in the boat or drumming (and anyone who’s got a dark side to them!)

please dress up as the ‘baddies’ in crazy junk clothing, mad punk wigs, dark masks, goggles - AND riding on Scooters, go-karts, roller blades/boots, bikes, water pistols sprayed black –

get creative!

MUM’s, YOUTH GIRLS & CLUB LADIES-we need a group of ‘INNOCENT’S’ to be grouped up in the

middle of all of this –The baddies hold you prisoners.

THE CARNIVAL ROUTE

This year, the organisers have asked for each ‘float’ to stop at certain points and ‘perform a routine'.  So, we have a 2 phase plan for the carnival route

The carnival will be going round twice this year. The judges will be at the clock tower.

Phase 1 - To start with,

We will have drummers playing along to the following track (Brothers in Arms) which will be on a loop (and VERY LOUD!): 

Phase 2 - A radio tuning sample sound will play (Everyone will stop drumming).  Then - This is the best bit! – For those of you who are unfortunate enough to have been around when the original Mad Max was out, this is a dedication to one of the finest mullets ever to have blessed the 80’s - Tina Turner

The beautiful Shane Tellam will appear on the float to the Beyond Thunderdome theme tune blasting out –

Other adults - this is your calling to 'camp up', grab a saxophone and be Tina’s back-up crew!            

       

The Innocent Children in the surf boat (younger Nippers) will sing along to ‘Tina’ ‘We don’t need another Hero’ - waving arms in the air etc.                                   

When ‘Tina’ has finished her performance there will be an air raid siren and she will disappear from site. 

Drums will start up again and the first routine and music loop starts again. Baddies raising hell once more!

Anyone interested in Drumming will need to be around for a practice session one evening before the event

(date and time to be confirmed shortly by club email and Facebook).

Costume Workshops Thurs 23rd July 2-4pm and Friday 2-4pm If you have any scrap for costumes, please bring it down to the club

FLOAT MAKING Will be at Station Road Industrial Estate next week, Look out for times Matt needs help and can’t do it alone Help with the float will be needed if anyone has a spare hour or so.  Please contact Matt Sanwell 07515 355960 if you can help                                                       We need any old paint, black brown silver would be gratefully received as well as any old large 

Water butts, PVC waste pipe, ducting and interesting ‘post-apocalyptic scrap heap challenge’ type junk.

Parents are very welcome to come along, get dressed up and join in the fun!!!
