Carne Cottage – For sale FreeholdCarne Cottage is an enchanting, south-facing family home situated
in a prime coastal waterfront position in the heart of the Roseland
Peninsula. The property enjoys stunning panoramic views across
Carne Beach and Gerrans Bay towards Porthscatho and the Lizard
beyond. The property is nicely protected from the elements and
enjoys privacy from the beach below. The property owns some of
the sandy beach foreshore down to mean high water.
Carne Cottage provides a fabulous holiday environment, located
on the edge of the hamlet of Carne among beautiful countryside.
The property overlooks and is a short walk from Carne Beach
which can provide endless hours of enjoyment for the whole family.
Carne Beach is a very good sandy beach, which, at low tide is
ideal for beach games, swimming and other water activities.
Carne Cottage was completely rebuilt in 2006. The result is
immaculate and high quality materials have been used throughout.
The property has a wonderfully light and spacious feel to it with a
number of rooms having panoramic views across the garden and
out to the sea beyond.
The front door leads to the entrance hallway, off which is the open
plan kitchen / dining room / sitting room. The room has stunning
waterfront views through concertina doors across the lawn to the
sea beyond. This south-facing, open plan reception room enjoys
total privacy and with the concertina doors, is perfect for both
inside and outside entertaining. The kitchen has been fitted with
beautifully crafted bespoke shaker-style units with granite work
surfaces. It also has a gas-fired Aga and lovely views out to sea.

bedrooms and a family bathroom, with both a bath and a shower.
One of these bedrooms has its own en-suite shower room.
Stairs lead up to the first floor landing which itself is currently used
as an office but is equally suited as a play room or as overflow
accommodation. Off the landing is the principal bedroom suite
which has its own en-suite bathroom and French doors that lead
out onto its own private, south-facing balcony. This bedroom has
lovely high ceilings and a wonderful feeling of space. It also has
plenty of built-in wardrobe space.
The house has under floor heating downstairs, radiators upstairs
and all windows are double-glazed.
Across the small courtyard to the rear of the house is a detached
drying room. Next to this are a separate shower room and WC.

water sports.

is The Summer House. This fifth double bedroom/artists studio
also faces south and enjoys fabulous views out across the front
lawn to the sea beyond.

down steps to storage above) and a detached single garage. At
the front of the garden and accessed by steps in the garden, is
an original World War II pillbox. This has been comprehensively
renovated and currently provides secure storage for garden
furniture and water sport equipment, but was formerly used as
wine cellar.

first impression on arriving at the property.

Directions (TR2 5PF)From Truro, take the A390 towards St.Austell
passing through Tresillian. Continue along, passing
a ‘crawler lane’, that rises up the hill. At the very
top of which, take the second right hand turn
wheresignposted for Tregony, Veryan and St.
Mawes (A3078). Continue down the hill and pass
over Tregony Bridge. Remain on this road as it
bends right then left so as to go back up the hill.
A few miles later and you will come to a fork in
the road. Turn left here, following the sign post to
Veryan. Continue down through the village, passing
the pub on your left hand side, and up the hill out of
the village. Remain on this lane as it passes the Nare
Hotel and down to the beach itself. At which point,
a slate plaque for the property is set within a high
stone wall to one side of the WWII ‘Pill Box’.
