A G T R A N o N N A C JffiffiKffiffi ffi&ffiruru&&t Over the past eleven years, the Cannon Art Gallery juried exhi- bitions have become an impor- tant showcase for the work of both emerging and mid-career artists in San Diego County. The 2011 Biennial attracted 245 artists who submitted more than 1"100 images for this year's competition. This year's jurors for the Biennial were Peter Frank, art critic for the Huffington Post and Senior Curator at the Riverside Art Museum, and Larry Baza, co- director of Noel-Baza Fine Art, San Diego. They selected 61 works of art by 61 artists, in- cluding 24 North County resi- dents. Thirteen artists have had works in previous Juried Exhibitions at the Gallery, while 48 are being shown there for the first time. The January 30 through March t8,2OLL Exhibition contains a wide spectrum of media, including painting, lithography, Photog- raphy, assemblage, installa- tion, book and fiber arts, and ceramics. From bright abstract paintings and mixed-media sculptures to sculpted ceram- ics and hand-stitched quilts, the exhibition is certain to have something to stimulate everyone's interest, exPand their mind and 'satisfY their spirit. Operated by the City of Carls- bad's Cultural Arts Office, the William D.
