STRING ENSEMBLE COLLECTIONShy Leopold Auer and Gustav Saenger

AFINAL achivement of the late Leopold Auer, famous violinist and teacher of Heifetz, Elman, Zimbalist andmany other distinguished artists, was the completion of this progressive series of original and instructive

ensemble folios. While designed as a sort of companion work to the "Leopold Auer Graded Course of Violin

Only the easier keys have been employed. To increase the interest

of the players, each of the Violin parts is provided with solo sec-

FIDDLERS TWO96 Melodious Duets for Two Violins

Contains a wealth of instructive and pleasing duet material whichembodies the ingenious Auer method of elementary fingering.

The duets however, are designed principally for entertainment andparticularly to prove to the beginner what pleasing, melodious andstriking effects can be produced with the most limited technicalmeans.

The gradual development of First Position fingering is practicallyillustrated in this Book through ninety-six melodious duets. Theseduets are systematically planned in four sections, providing for useof first finger only with open strings: first and second fingers onlywith open strings: first, second and third fingers only with openstrings: first, second, third and fourth fingers with open strings,

offering entertainment, playing experience and instruction all in one.

Cello, Bass and Piano Parts (ad lib.)

This collection has been especially prepared for advanced 1st Pocitionplayers. The individual numbers are outstanding, and their per-formance calls for players with firm left-hand control and well-developed bowing ability. A number of the more difficult keys havebeen employed to develop a keener feeling for intonational purity. Each part demands a precise sense for rhythmic values and aripened understanding for the finer application of dynamics.

All parts provided with lettered measures for rehearsal needs.

MUSICAL MASTERPIECES10 Arrangements for 4 Violins with additional Viola,

Cello, Bass and Piano Parts (ad lib.)

This book provides carefully selected material for the training ofmore experienced players. The compositions are admirable musical-ly, and their arrangement places them at the head of specialized

music of this class. Performance calls for capable technical ability

in position playing (ist Violin: I to VII position; 2nd, 3rd and 4thViolin parts: I to III position; Viola, Cello and Bass parts as well

in the higher positions) and general advanced accomplishment in
