After a botched heist, Eddie (Bruce Willis), a murderous crime boss, hunts down the seductive thief Karen (Claire Forlani) who failed him. In order to win back Eddie’s trust, Karen recruits her ex-lover and premier thief Jack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) to steal a cargo of rare precious gems. But when the job goes down, allegiances are betrayed and lines are crossed as Jack, Karen and Eddie face off in a fateful showdown. Lionsgate Premiere will release the action thriller in theaters and On Demand on April 22, 2016.

Lionsgate Premiere, Grindstone Entertainment Group and Emmett Furla Oasis Films present in association with Herrick Entertainment, an Emmett Furla Oasis Films production, a Mann Made Films production.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTIONAs Precious Cargo unfolds, writer-director Max Adams keeps the audience guessing

in his feature-length directorial debut. Since his arrival in Hollywood a few short years ago, the former Army officer and battalion commander, who also has a Master’s degree in film production, has risen swiftly through the ranks to become an in-demand action screenwriter known for his humorous, brisk dialogue, cleverly constructed plot twists and ability to write realistic action and fight sequences. But the story for Precious Cargo was written long before Adams arrived in Hollywood and while he was a graduate student at Florida State University’s film school.

With his encyclopedic knowledge of cinema, action films and real-life action experiences after serving for six years in the Army, Adams quickly established himself as “the action director” after enrolling in Florida Stat University’s graduate school in 2006. A couple years later when it came time to make a short film for his Master’s Thesis, Adams wrote, directed and edited Precious Cargo, a story set in the world of multi-million dollar heists and double-crossing professional thieves. A short time later, while working on HBO’s acclaimed “Boardwalk Empire” the show’s writer-producer Terence Winter and writer-director-executive producer Timothy Van Patten encouraged Adams to write a feature-length version of the short, which he did. It was that screenplay for Precious Cargo, which got Adams an agent.

“That sort of set me on my path,” said Adams about Precious Cargo. “A few years later, George [Furla] and Randall [Emmett] read it and found something they liked about it and here we all are in Biloxi, Mississippi making the movie.”

The cast and crew filmed Precious Cargo along the picturesque Mississippi Gulf Coast, inlets and waterways around the Gulfport-Biloxi area during an action-packed 17-day shoot—much of it in the sweltering early summer heat of May-June 2015. According to the cast and crew, with thunderstorms, oppressive humidity and temperatures soaring into the

hundreds, Adams proved to be every bit the cool, calm focused leader that saw him elevated to a commanding officer in the 3rd Army Infantry in Iraq.

“For his first shot at being a director I can’t imagine a more daunting task,” said Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who plays con man and professional thief Jack. “This was a very ambitious script that he wrote and an ambitious schedule and Max did an amazing job – getting everything together, being a leader on set, making a great film and allowing us to have an amazing onset experience. He’s the guy we followed and will continue to follow.”

But Adams is no drill sergeant barking orders when it comes to his cast and crew. On the contrary, the burly 6’2” vet is surprisingly soft-spoken, more apt to crack a joke than crack a whip.

“I had the most fun making this film,” said Claire Forlani, who plays femme fatale Karen Colson. “It has been one of the most fun sets I’ve ever been on with such a brilliant level of humor. And when you’re working these hours in this race to get a film made, to have that attitude, it comes from the top. And that’s Max. It’s been a really tight schedule and a lot to do, and he’s not only done it, but he’s done it brilliantly. I adore him. I think he’s really accomplished something admirable and fun with this film.”

“Max is very open and very fluid as a director and let us figure out what works on the fly, but there was a definite blueprint that we stayed true to what was on the page,” said Gosselaar. “None of the dialogue was changed, which is a testament to Max that he is a solid writer. Claire and I had a lot of dialogue, a lot of back and forth banter and what we say in the film is written on the page.”

“Precious Cargo is a good mix of comedy with an intense blend of action and drama happening behind that,” said Gosselaar.

“I like that there’s a light touch to this film, a comedic element throughout. I always like to see an action film that has a comedic element and doesn’t take itself too seriously. This is that kind of movie where you can sit down for 90 minutes, eat popcorn and enjoy the ride.”

ABOUT THE CHARACTERS “Jack is a man who tries to make easy money the hard way,” said Gosselaar about

the charming, laid-back thief and con artist he plays. “He’s always trying to go for the score. He dreams of retiring to a far-off tropical location, opening up a dive shop and enjoying the good life, however, he’s still working these high-risk jobs to make money, so he’s not there yet.”

Forlani comments about her role, “Karen Colson is probably one of the most fun roles I’ve ever done because to play someone who really doesn’t care about anyone else is just tremendous fun.” “Karen’s funny, sharp, quick, manipulative and deceptive. You fall in love

3

Page 4: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

with her and you hate her. You root for her and yet she’s always scheming. She’s sort of maddening in that way and I’ve just loved playing her. I love Max [Adams] and Paul [Seetachitt] for writing this character and story. And making it was great fun!”

Actor Bruce Willis, who practically invented the gleeful and gritty action hero playing the wise-cracking police detective John McClane in the classic Die Hard film series, was back on familiar ground playing crime boss Eddie Filosa. Precious Cargo marks the fifth film Willis has done with E/F/O, including Extraction, The Prince, Rage and Vice.

“It was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to collaborate with Bruce on this project,” said Adams. “I’m a big fan of Bruce Willis and his work. As a first time director never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined standing in front of him – Detective John McClane from Die Hard, The Last Boy Scout – you name it! – hearing my words come out of his mouth.”

Co-star Gosselaar was similarly thrilled to be working with one of his screen idols. “It was fantastic to work alongside somebody that you’ve followed from a young age, although I supposed he hates to hear that,” said the 41-year-old actor. “Bruce was one of the action heroes I grew up with, so to watch him and work alongside him was remarkable.”

And Gosselaar is equally effusive about his co-star and leading lady Forlani. “Claire Forlani is a huge reason for me doing this,” he admits. “I’ve followed her career and always thought of her as a very strong actor – and she is a complete pro. She was my partner throughout this shoot. This script and schedule forces any actor out of their comfort zone, the way they’re used to doing things and Claire’s willingness to jump in, let things go, move through what we needed with a limited amount of time and resources was such a blessing. I don’t know too many actors or actresses who would have given as much to her fellow actors and the crew as Claire did.”

Adams says Forlani’s strong body of work and screen presence speaks to her star quality and powerful professionalism. “As soon as the cameras roll, she brings it. She has such a magnetism and magic – you’re drawn to her,” he said. “What I love from a director’s standpoint is she’s always doing something, always elevating the scene. Sometimes it’s just the smallest nuances here or there that she finds or brings to the table. Doesn’t matter if it’s a close-up on Claire or a wide-shot – seven people in the room – if you’re paying attention to Claire, she’s doing something interesting, elevating everything in the scene.”

Adams says he got lucky with Gosselaar and Forlani and the chemistry between the co-stars. “Mark-Paul is a God-send,” said Adams. “That guy is the best, a class act, the consummate professional. He takes everything and elevates it to the next level. He shows up ready to work, to help solve problems left and right. I can’t speak highly enough of Mark-Paul Gosselaar and his contributions to this production.”

4

Page 5: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

“There are the words and then there’s the subtext,” said Adams. “We got very lucky with Mark-Paul and Claire in so many ways. Claire brings such a magic between the words and the subtext and you can see it when they’re saying good-bye at the airport. The connection she’s created with Mark-Paul is very fortunate for us. Side-by-side Mark-Paul and Claire are magic. You hear horror stories about leads without chemistry, or who are a total disconnect, or even [those who] butt heads in such a way the relationship rings untrue, so I’m very grateful.”

The relationship between Jack and Karen is a complex and ambiguous which both actors have strong opinions about.

“Jack will always have a love for Karen,” said Gosselaar. “We see it throughout the film– as well as we see why they shouldn’t be together. More times than not, they should be together. Karen says to Jack, ‘You haven’t felt this alive in years…’ and there’s some truth to that. But the relationship is too volatile. It works for the scores, but it’s too volatile to maintain for any type of ‘normal’ relationship.”

Although Jack may not trust the unpredictable, manipulative Karen, it’s clear he loves her. And while Karen clearly trusts Jack, it’s not so clear she cares about him—much less loves him. In fact, is When Eddie reveals the depth of Karen’s lies to Jack, one wonders if Karen is Karen capable of caring about anyone?

“I think it’s totally ambiguous and that question is what makes it so much fun,” said Forlani. “I think the audience projects things on to characters and make their own decisions about whether she does or she doesn’t care about Jack.”

According to Forlani, one of the best things about the characters and story in Precious Cargo is the interchangeability of the roles of the men and women in the film.

“Max has written the part in a fascinating way because the women could be men – and vice-versa. The roles are interchangeable,” she said. “It’s so rare you read that level of equality in women’s roles where you could interchange the men and women without changing anything else. I thought that was absolutely brilliant. I think it’s a sign of the times to get to play women like this. It’s great.”

With femme fatale Karen and female sniper Logan, the actresses in Precious Cargo were playing fearless and focused women who don’t just play rough with the bad boys, but generally outsmart them and often save the day.

For co-star Gosselaar the strong female characters “barking orders at the men” not only underscores the role reversals at play, but adds to the film’s humor.

“All these female characters all had an element of being bad-asses in their own way and they’re all very strong women as well,” he said. “It’s funny how they tell the men what to do and they do it. And with Logan and Jack, Logan’s usually right.”

5

Page 6: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

The relationship dynamics between Logan and Jack are another example of women leading the way. “Logan’s the grounding force in Jack’s life,” said Gosselaar about Jack’s constant companion, best friend, and ace sharpshooter. “She’s like a little sister to Jack and the one person who kind of lays it straight with him that he’ll listen to. She’s the most level-headed one of the group and Jack respects and cares for her. Generally what Logan says kind of goes.”

Newcomer Jenna Kelly makes her acting debut as sexy sharpshooting tomboy Logan, a highly-trained expert marksman who is fiercely devoted to Jack. If the surly blond-haired beauty is not at or near Jack’s side, she’s almost always just a few yards away peering through a sniper’s telescope watching over her “boss” like a guardian angel with a gun.

“Jenna Kelly, who played Logan, did a great job in her first film,” Forlani agreed, noting off-camera the two actresses had a lot of fun between takes, but onscreen was a different story.

“She’s very protective of Jack and that’s very cool to see,” said Gosselaar. “And Jack’s very protective of her as well. She doesn’t need a lot of my [character] protecting her, though. She’s a bad ass.” “Jenna was great, like an old pro, amazing,” adds Gosselaar. “She embraced the role and brought strength to her character that was perfect.”

Usually several steps ahead of or above the action unfolding below, Logan agrees to go along with the dangerous armored truck heist, although she doesn’t like or trust Karen, but does threaten Karen with physical harm if she hurts Jack emotionally again.

“Karen doesn’t have much of a relationship with Logan because she’s not really interested in Logan,” said Forlani. “Anyone around her or other people with Jack is just an obstacle to Karen. Logan’s a slightly bigger obstacle because Jack’s so committed to her and because of her loyalty to him, but that’s all – just a bigger obstacle.”

Another obstacle in Karen’s plan to get Jack back is Jenna, the beautiful marine veterinarian played by Lydia Hull, whom Jack has been dating for several weeks. The unsuspecting vet becomes caught up in the chaos Karen brings when she blows back into Jack’s life – as her own personal blowback rains down.

“Lydia Hull is sweet as pie and perfect for her character who happens to be named Jenna,” said Forlani. “She’s another strong female character – a doctor – who finds herself caught up in circumstances she doesn’t understand and rises to the occasion. After Jack agrees to do the armored car heist, he has to find a second gunman to back up Logan. When six-month pregnant Karen volunteers, Jack absolutely forbids it, saying he will not go through with the job if she takes part in the robbery. Instead he reaches out to his trusted friend and “wheel man” Andrew (Nick Loeb), who’s talent for driving anything with a wheel – car, truck, boat and plane – comes in handy with the work they do, especially on this heist.

6

Page 7: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

For a second gunman, Andrew suggests his friend Nicholas (John Brotherton), who’s desperate for action and takes Jack and Karen to meet him.

“Nicholas is a great character,” said Gosselaar. “He’s a guy that had a very exciting life before he met his wife, Aspara (Sammi Barber) and now he’s bored out of his mind. He’s desperate for action, frustrated and funny – and Aspara is hysterical.”

Perhaps nowhere is Nicholas’s frustration better seen than in the ongoing profane bickering and make-out sessions between Nicholas and his fresh-faced, foul-mouthed wife Apsara, played by another relative newcomer, Sammi Barber. The expletive-filled cursing and yelling between the tiny blonde and her trigger-happy hubby provided some of the film’s lighter moments.

“The actress Sammi Barber who played her, nailed it, which is very impressive since it was one of her first times in front of a camera,” said Gosselaar. “You’re always taking a bit of a gamble with new actors, but the minute she opened her mouth and started with that dialogue, she was perfect. Claire and I looked at each other and said, ‘She’s great!’ Sammi and John Brotherton hit it out of the park with their scenes.”

When it comes to his co-star Daniel Bernhardt, who plays his onscreen nemesis and Eddie’s right-hand enforcer Simon, Gosselaar says he can’t give his fellow actor “enough kudos.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Daniel. He’s a legitimate actor and stuntman, which is a luxury for any film,” he said. “I can’t imagine doing this kind of film with someone other than Daniel. We rehearsed our fight scene together on our own time in a conference room at the hotel a couple hours before we filmed it. That scene should have taken a day or two to film and we finished it in a couple of hours.”

Gosselaar credits Bernhardt’s “precision” with his ability and credibility in performing most of his own stunts for the extensive fight sequences, involving fast-moving vehicles and motorboats. “Daniel’s a complete mentor to me— teaching me how to look as strong as possible as Jack. He’d say ‘This will look good for your character’ and ‘This is what Jack would do.’ He was amazing.”

THE STUNTSGosselaar said one of his fondest memories is being able to do so many of his own

stunts. “Stunt Coordinator Frank Blake allowed me to do things I didn’t know if he would and let me use experience from my private life in the film,” he said. “I had a boat and a lot of experience with motorcycles and cars and weapons, so he allowed me to drive the boat. When I FaceTimed with my wife at the end of the day, I’d say, ‘You’ll never believe what I got to do today!’ and I’d tell her about driving a car, shooting a shotgun and hanging out of

7

Page 8: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

the car – all at once. I can’t believe what I was doing today on the river – driving and racing and flat-spinning the boat as I fired a gun while Claire was shooting a shotgun.”

Since there was little prep time for the shoot, Gosselaar says, “I was in relatively good shape to do this film because I have gotten the shit kicked out of me. It’s a very physical role and production, where we’re out on the water, moving fast, moving all day. It’s brutally hot and I’ve definitely a few pounds lighter and a few shades tanner.”

One of the most physically demanding sequences was also the film’s extensive stunt and action sequence – the armored car heist – which was filmed entirely at the Mississippi State Port Authority. Adams and director of photography Brandon Cox used multiple cameras to get the complex action sequence.

The armored car chase, crash, heist and shootout was spread over several days at the beginning and end of the shooting schedule between first and second unit, with a caravan of vehicles in action. As Andrew and Jack drive off with the armored truck hooked to the rear axle of their tow truck, Simon and Eddie’s gang come roaring at them within their SUVs guns blazing. As Simon approaches the armored truck, he climbs out of the moving SUV and jumps on top of the armored truck, which Adams was able to get it all in one shot thanks to Bernhardt, a seasoned stunt performer.

“It’s a director’s dream to get actors who can actually do their own stunt work because it is easy to film and cut it,” said Adams. “So, having an actor like Daniel, who’s an amazing martial artist and stuntman as well as lead actor like Mark-Paul, who is experienced and confident driving cars and boats and handling weapons, is a dream-come-true.”

The scenes on the Gulf of Mexico on Jack’s sailboat were shot off the coast of Moses Pier on 20th Avenue in Gulfport as was the opening sequence on the old dock where Jack and company’s weapons deal goes bad. Jack’s boat was docked at the East End of Gulfport Marina.

The Biloxi River was the location for the extensive boat chase sequences. Adams and Cox used a drone and multiple cameras to capture the high-speed action as Jack, Karen and Jenna escape Simon and Eddie’s thugs.

With motorboats and jet skis, stuntmen and actors in constant motion during these sequences, Adams worked closely with Cox, Blake and his assistant directors Jonathan Southard and Melinda Ziyadat. They maximized his coverage and post-production options by shooting with multiple cameras, including an aerial drone above the river and the Alexa XT®

and Ari Alexa® cameras with Hawk® anamorphic lenses on the river. The production’s staging area for the boat chase through the labyrinth of waterways

was Orangutang’s Daiquiris & Bar on Lorraine Road – and the Biloxi River in Biloxi. Following a post-Katrina structural restoration, the popular riverside eatery and bar has become a well-known Daiquiris destination by land and by water. The filmmakers discovered

8

Page 9: Cargo... · Web viewSeveral scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack

Orangutang’s tucked away in the trees when they ran across it while scouting locations along the Biloxi River in a boat. With its tiered decks, outside patio and landing dock Orangutang’s offered the Precious Cargo cast and crew a perfect spot to work.

“We were on a scout when we stopped, docked and came into the place for lunch,” said Adams. “We immediately thought it would be a great place for us since it was close to several different parts of the river we needed to film different scenes in,” said Adams.

FILMING IN MISSISSIPPIOriginally set among the ex-pat community in Thailand, Precious Cargo was

rewritten to fit the Mississippi Gulf Coast once the decision was made to move the production stateside.

“We came down and scouted the area and the community opened arms and doors to us, so it made sense rather than try to cheat Gulfport-Biloxi, Mississippi for something else to embrace the aesthetic and run with it,” said Adams.

For example, after watching the motorboats zipping along the labyrinth of inter-coastal waterways along I-10 in southern Mississippi, Adams was inspired to change a planned car chase into a boat chase. Similarly, the armored car heist with its extensive stunt and chase sequence could be staged along the harbor at the Mississippi State Port Authority in Gulfport. The Port Authority offered the production an excellent backdrop along with the control, privacy, buildings and space it needed to execute a multi-vehicle chase, crash, and shootout.

Adams said changing the location from Thailand to Mississippi altered two of the larger action sequences, but not much more. “The setting’s different, but the original vision is still there. We didn’t lose much in terms of structure, characters or themes,” he said. “The heart of the story stayed the same. We changed a large set piece that took place on a passenger train from Thailand to Burma, but it was the least original and most expensive action sequence, so it was right to change it. We had an action sequence that took place at the international airport in Singapore, but when we saw Stennis Airfield knew we could keep it.”

In addition to shooting the team’s surveillance scenes on the perimeter of the airfield, the production staged a chase and shootout along the 8,500-foot runway at Stennis, filming for two days on the tarmac near the airfield’s North Hangar, where Jack and his group must board a secured C-130 air freighter, which is surrounded by private security, unlock the safe with an unknown code and grab the contents.

Several scenes were also filmed inside the C-130 aircraft including when Simon and Jack are trapped together with the safe as gunfire erupts outside. When Jack tries to escape and falls to the ground, Simon doesn’t hesitate to commandeer the plane and the safe, firing

Owned and operated by the global aerial services company International Air Response, the classic Lockheed C-130 Hercules aircraft featured in other action films as well as commercials for cars and game consoles. Chevy, Top Gear, Sony PlayStation and HTC Smartphones.

Cast and crew began the shoot with five days of filming at the Island View Casino Resort Hotel on West Beach Boulevard in Gulfport, including a day in the sand at the hotel’s beach and pool areas. The production also filmed extensively in a suite in the hotel’s South Tower, which doubled for Eddie’s suite, office and third floor terrace, and staged an extensive shoot-out inside and outside the Island View Hotel through the lobby into the casino and out into its parking garage and on to its rooftop.

The shoot-out at the Island View begins in the valet parking area, where lighting and smoke were employed to simulate a truck explosion in the driveway at the hotel’s main entrance that provides cover as Jack and Karen flee from Eddie and his gang into the luxury hotel. The chase and shootout continued through the South Tower’s front desk and reception areas, down the hotel’s office hallways, into a second floor stairwell and finally into and through the hotel’s casino where Jack and Karen eventually escape into the crowd.

The production used the ground floor of the hotel’s south parking garage for the scenes in the abandoned parking lot where the armored truck is towed and parked following the heist. After Jack opens the truck and smashes into the lock box, he finds the $30 million in gems and moments later, Eddie, Simon and his henchmen arrive and a shootout ensues. The rooftop of the south tower parking garage was the scene of the climactic shoot-out between Eddie and his men as they chase Jack and Karen through the hotel, casino and parking garage to a helicopter, waiting on the roof, piloted by their wheel-man Andrew.

When Jack goes searching for the accomplices he needs to pull off the heist, he tracks down his pal Andrew at Poncho and Lefty’s Cantina Bar on Briar Patch Lane in Gulfport. The Tiki Lounge where Jack, Karen and Andrew meet Nicholas and his wife Apsara was also filmed at Pancho & Lefty’s Bar — the production used the outside for the Tiki Lounge and the inside for the Cantina. Basecamp was at Bayou View Elementary School on Washington Avenue in Gulfport.

Other shooting locations include the marble-floored foyer of Gulfport city hall, which doubled for the bank where we first meet Karen, when she answers her phone in the middle of a robbery when Eddie calls. Cast and crew also shot at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies Aquatic Research Center in Gulfport, where we first see Jack ask Jenna out, and where Jack takes a wounded Logan after the shootout with Eddie.

In between takes, although oppressively hot, the great on-set camaraderie continued. “You’d usually run off to the trailers to cool off in between shots, but we hung

10

out on set, in the heat, rehearsing, talking and laughing and having lots of fun,” said Gosselaar.

Forlani thinks the playfulness and fun on the set was a combination of many things. “I think the characters and the dialogue are so sharp and witty, it gets into you,” said Forlani. “I love the energy of filming here in Mississippi – on the water and the coast. The energy is palpable, like a character which is only going to help the film.”

“Everywhere we went, we received a warm welcome,” said Gosselaar. “On this movie everyone was ready to go, energized and wanted to make a great action film.”

Under the umbrella of Loeb’s private investment enterprise, A Nick Loeb Company, Loeb’s Crunch is distributed in more than 11,000 stores nationwide and has generated $7 million in sales in three years. The crunchy all-natural toppings are made from 100 percent real vegetables and are low in carbs and sodium with no added cholesterol. Due to Loeb’s Crunch popularity, Loeb has plans to expand the brand to other products soon.

A Nick Loeb Company also focuses on real estate and other small ventures including partnering with HGC Capital, an environmental remediation firm to create carbon credits though methane capture of landfills in alignment with the UN's Clean Development Mechanism. He now serves as a Managing Partner at Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) providing climate change advisory services to corporate and government clients. Previously, Loeb worked at Lehman Brothers in a business development capacity, making introductions and generating deal flow to the firm’s wealth management, investment banking, and real estate divisions.

Loeb earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1998. He feels fortunate to have been mentored by such esteemed leaders and family members like his cousin, Edgar Bronfman, Jr. formerly of Seagrams-Universal and his father, Ambassador John Loeb of Loeb Rhoades and Lehman Brothers. Loeb began his career in California at Universal Studios in corporate development and motion picture finance before forming International Production Company (IPC) in 1999 where he produced an MGM film The Smokers, and a documentary series titled The Living Century with Executive Producer Barbara Streisand.  As an actor, Loeb has appeared in the films Extraction, Sundown, The Good War, The Smokers, Supermodel, The Aftermath and Primary Colors.

In his spare time, he enjoys travel, dining and the fruits of his labor at his New York City and Delray Beach, Florida residences.

LYDIA HULL (Kris) most recently completed roles in the films Heist and Extraction. The former model-turned-actress has appeared in the films Vice, Escape Plan, Frozen Ground, Empire State, Broken City, Fire with Fire, The Tomb, White Air and Van Wilder: Party Liaison. Hull’s television credits include the series “Castle” and the role of Lily Maddox in the syndicated action drama about firefighters, “SAF 3.”

After winning a Seventeen magazine cover model contest at age 15, Hull launched a career in modeling, eventually moving to Los Angeles, California to pursue acting after graduating high school. In addition to acting, Hull studied apparel and textile marketing at Kansas State University, and earned a degree in jewelry design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS

MAX ADAMS (Director, Co-Screenwriter) co-wrote the action thriller Heist and Extraction and is writing the screen adaptation of House To House, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. David Bellavia’s war memoir about the Second Battle of Fallujah for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. He’s also been tapped to do an adaptation of Ridley Pearson’s novel The Risk Agent, a China-set thriller from the best-selling series of books, for Vince Vaughn and Universal Pictures.

Born in Camp Pendleton, California, Adams began his love affair with movies as a child, developing an encyclopedic knowledge of cinema. When Adams enlisted in the Army after graduating high school, he brought his love of film (and extensive DVD collection) with him, and often entertained his fellow soldiers by quoting movie lines and monologues from films such as Rambo, Patton, Heartbreak Ridge and The Karate Kid.  During one such performance two years into his service, Adams’s ability to memorize and recite long passages impressed one of his commanding officers, and soon the M-3 Gustav gunner and team leader in the 1st Ranger Battalion found himself on his way to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. While a cadet at West Point, Adams became well-known for his knowledge of film, organizing movie nights, and making short films, such as the spoof Temptation Barracks, to make his fellow cadets laugh.

After graduating as a Second Lieutenant in June 2001, Adams became an officer in the 3rd Infantry Division, and upon his deployment to Iraq, where he took part in the initial ground invasion, Adams was assigned as commander of his battalion’s Quick Reaction Force.  Following his honorable discharge from the Army in 2006, Adams studied film production at Florida State University, receiving a Masters of Fine Arts degree in 2008. He began his career writing and directing short films such as Paternity Test (which he also edited), Precious Cargo (which was his MFA Florida State thesis), and Saint Nick.  He also worked as the cinematographer and editor on the shorts, Harvest Moon and Exposure.

Adams also worked as a writer’s production assistant and personal video playback assistant to filmmaker Martin Scorsese for the pilot episode of the critically acclaimed HBO®

series “Boardwalk Empire.” Adams continued to work on the series as a camera assistant for episodes 2-12, and credits its award-winning creator, writer-producer Terence Winter (“Sopranos”) and writer-director-executive producer Timothy Van Patten mentors.

RANDALL EMMETT (Producer) is one of the entertainment industry’s most prolific producers and co-founder (with partner George Furla) of Emmett/Furla Films. Having completed more than 80 films in his career, Emmett is widely recognized for his talent in producing box-office hits and critically acclaimed independent features. In combining

financial acumen and incisive creative sensibility, Emmett has produced feature films such as Everest, Lone Survivor, 2 Guns, Broken City, and End of Watch and has recently expanded into television as an executive producer on the Starz show, “Power”. Over the course of his career, Emmett’s films have grossed more than $500 million at the U.S. box office, and he has raised more than $1 billion in independent financing.

Emmett is a producer of Martin Scorsese’s Silence, which is currently in post-production, as well as the upcoming biopic, Tupac. A Miami native, Emmett attended the prestigious New World School of the Arts High School and is a School of Visual Arts graduate.

GEORGE FURLA (Producer) began his career with Cantor Fitzgerald and Company, after graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in business administration. At Cantor Fitzgerald, he served as an equity trader from 1982 to 1985 before moving to Jones and Associates, where he worked in a similar capacity for three years. In 1988, Furla left Jones and Associates to establish and run a hedge fund, which specialized in risk arbitrage and equity trading.  Furla ran the hedge fund for ten years after which he jointly formed a film production company, Emmett/Furla Films, with his partner, Randall Emmett.

At Emmett/Furla Films, which later became Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films, Furla utilizes his hedge fund approach to model out film financing scenarios. Furla and Emmett share responsibility in both concept development and arrangement of film financing. E/F/O has produced more than 80 films including Everest, Lone Survivor, 2 Guns, End of Watch, Righteous Kill, Rambo, and 16 Blocks.

MARK STEWART (Executive Producer) is a producer and executive producer who is a frequent collaborator with E/F/O, serving as a producer on the films Marauders, Extraction, Absence of War, Empire State and as an executive producer on Heist, Escape Plan, Vice, The Prince, The Frozen Ground, Days and Nights and Fire with Fire.
