Careviews Got Talent
Quarter July—September 2019
One of the biggest events in our calendar to date was our Talent Show event that took place
at MJ’s based in Wednesbury.
We had four pre planned performances by Helen, Paul, John and Aaron. Helen sang I Just
Can’t Get you out of my head! Paul sang Jerusalem John sang and Aaron wrote his very own
rap. The exceptional amount of talent on display surprised us all. The quality of Aarons lyrics in
his rap were of a very high standard and demonstrated his creativity when it came to music..
We had some impromptu performances by Jim our co-host, the Gill brothers as they are fondly
called and Shaun Utting. Jim rendered a couple of tracks, Ravi and Gurdip demonstrated their
bhangra moves and Shaun his singing voice. More pictures are on the back page. Turn to
page 5 for more pictures from the afternoon.

Our managers and activi-ties champion Arron walked 7km for the Memory Walk at Sutton Park on Saturday 14
th Sep-
tember 2019. The team raised money for a really good cause and supported family members of our service users in raising awareness for Dementia
Alzheimer’s.
We wish Laura a speedy recovery for injuries sus-tained during the walk. Next year she will be walk-ing for “say no to converse” when partaking in charity
walks .
Our managers walked the walk to support the service users we care for and their families. The managers set up their own Just

Maureen turned 74 years young and
celebrated her day by going out for
coffee with her friends.
The evening consisted of a small birth-
day bash with her fellow housemates ,
where cake, dinner and dance took
place.
Age is Just a Number
This year Shaun chose to go
to Southport for his summer
holiday.
He was accompanied by two
care staff Gurpal and Lor-
nika.
His trip consisted of sun, sea
and sand. Shaun enjoyed
exploring Southport and
treated himself to lots of ice
cream and gifts. Shaun espe-
cially enjoyed the night life
and took part in the club-
house quizzes and bingo.
This was Shaun first holiday
since he was a child and he
would love to make it an
annual trip
Mark loves to dance and any given moment you will see Mark making his moves. Post the talent show , where Mark witnessed the Gill brothers bust some moves on the floor, his interest in Bhangra arose. Mark is now a regular at the Bhangra classes where he meets up with the Gill broth-ers and all three having rollicking time together. They often go out for a curry after expending all their energies on the dancefloor.
Bhangra’s gonna get you!
Paul is one of our most outgoing resi-
dents at the care home.
He has been venturing out on the met-
ro to places like Wolverhampton, Bir-
mingham and Black Country Museum.
Paul really enjoyed his visit to the Muse-
um where he enjoyed his retro fish and
chips!
His last visit to Birmingham consisted of
a trip to the canals and a short boat trip
followed by a shopping spree in Bull-
ring.
Paul is a prolific shopper and there is
never a day where Paul doesn’t have a
shopping list in hand and out on his
spree.
Ahoy!

CAREVIEW’S
through observations, pointers and con-
versation to discuss emotional state.
The principles of Cognitive Behaviour
are embedded into our approach and
we utilise a series of services available in
the community. Aubreys Angels is one
of the services we access and the work
we do in conjunction with them is not
only CBT but we look wider to help
service users to manage their thought
patterns. We look to provide them with
the tools and skills to manage their anxi-
eties and ideations.
We work with agencies across the men-
tal health spectrum to create positive
experiences and thoughts especially
with service users who have suicidal
thoughts or made attempts.
This multi-disciplinary approach is to
ensure that we offer a holistic service
covering all aspects of an individual’s
care needs. Emotional regulation is a
key aspect and our care team learn skills
to help support service users. A variety
of tools are used to enable service users
to articulate their emotional state and
this occurs throughout the contact
