Our Maintenance TeamCaretech UK Ltd has expertise in the Repair, Maintenance and Installation across the country of a wide variety of equipment, and has come to be recognised by both suppliers and clients for the standards we achieve.

As an accredited service agent for most manufacturers, we undertake Repair, Maintenance and Modification on items within all of their product ranges. Our engineers are all home-based in the areas in which they work, and are supported from our Essex Headquarters. All of these engineers are highly qualified and are able to carry out repairs and maintenance to a wide range of equipment. As necessary, formal training is provided both in-house and with original equipment manufacturers to ensure our technical standards do not slip.

At Caretech UK Ltd we use a fully ‘paperless office’ record system to enable us to give accurate historical information including product type, serial number, condition, location, and maintenance costs together with the usual detailed service records, site log reports and certification details.

As an approved NHS contractor, we work to the varying requirements of Estates, Maintenance & Supplies Departments and we are able to tailor our services to the individual needs of each site. We specialise in maintenance contracts including full 24 / 7 emergency cover but ‘one off’ repair / maintenance orders can be undertaken if required.

OVERHEAD HOIST – NEW Invacare I-Transia

The Invacare I-Transia is a reliable and highly cost effective ceiling hoist that is perfect for community and residential care. Designed to meet the wide range of day-to-day lifting needs encountered by carers, the I-Transia allows tranfers to be carried out quickly, safely and comfortably.

Track OptionsFree standing gantry system is ideal for immediate needs such as hospital discharge. The rails adjust easily in both height and width, providing a simple, yet effective, way to deal with any need for a single track over bed solution. The entire system can be set up – or dismantled – in just a few minutes. The dimensions can be adjusted from 202 cm to 282 cm in height and from 272 cm to 389 cm in length (outer dimensions). The inner tracking allows up to 250 cm of travel.

Single track system comprises a single rail which is fixed to the ceiling or a wall. A single-track can be installed, up to 3 or 4 metres and takes the 205kg I-Transia ceiling hoists. 250kg hoists can be mounted on track up to 4 metres ceiling mounted and 3.5 metres if mounted to a wall.

Room covering (XY system) track systemThis system allows transfers to be carried out in any area of the room. Ideal for when flexibility is required.

OVERHEAD HOIST – Invacare RobinRobin & Robin MoverThe Invacare Robin ceiling hoist provides a unique and innovative method of transfer. The two strap design has no obstructive spreader bar; offering a safe and dignified transfer with optimal client and carer contact.

ComfortThe two strap design gives unsurpassed stability during the transfer. The smooth soft start function makes positioning more gentle, and the two speed motor reduces the amount of time required for the transfer. The strap only configuration eliminates the need for a spreader bar of any size, adapting automatically to the weight and shape of the client.

High safety and easy to work withThe Invacare Robin has been conceived with safety in mind. In the event of an emergency situation, lowering, raising and stop functions are standard features built into the motor unit. The lifting mechanism offers an overload security system, self adjusting strap inlet and centrifugal braking.

Our patented strap system enables the carer to attach the sling to the hoist with the minimum of effort and the added security of a simple locking mechanism.

Different models for different needsAt Handicare we recognise that transfer solutions are required in a wide range of locations, with a wide range of user requirements and, often crucially, a range of budgets. Our ceiling track hoists range offer you a choice of two different weight bearing capacities and powered or manual traverse together with some optional features such as switch manoeuvring to help you select a solution that will meet the individual’s specific needs.

Manual or Powered TraverseThe basic versions of both the RiseAtlas450 and the RiseAtlas625 can be supplied as manual (M) or powered (T) traverse. The powered version has a built in transfer motor that will move the hoist along the rail leaving the carer free to focus on the client.

Quick Trolley SystemThe trolley is the mechanism in the track in to which the ceiling hoist is located. The RiseAtlas450M can be supplied with Handicare’s unique Quick Trolley System. This trolley is designed to provide a secure, smooth ride and easy transfer whilst also making it easy to remove the hoist from the rail too.

Switch manoeuvringRiseAtlas450M and RiseAtlas625M are also available in special versions featuring electrical switch manoeuvring for increased convenience and ease of use. With these versions, the caregiver is able to easily manoeuvre turntables in the rail system using the hand control.

Oxford Quickfit Deluxe Sling (Spreader Bar: 6 Point)This sling is a development of the Quickfit design and is suitable for 95% of patients. It can be used for amputees following assessment, and is available in sizes XS to XL.

Oxford Access/Toileting Sling (6 Point/4 Point)This sling is designed specifically to facilitate the toileting procedure by allowing the removal of clothing. It is NOT a general-purpose sling and will suit only 25% of patients. Patients must be in a sitting position to use this sling. Available with or without head support.

Oxford Long Seat Sling (Spreader Bar: 6 Point)This sling can only be put on or removed in a lying position and is most commonly used with an amputee. This sling also needs to be used in conjunction with side suspenders.

SLINGS – Oxford SlingsOxford range of slingsA sling is an item of moving and handling equipment that is used with a mechanical lift in order to facilitate the transfer of a patient. A sling comprises a specially designed and constructed piece of fabric that is placed under and around a patient before being attached to the cradle/spreader bar of a lift to raise, transfer and lower the patient.

It incorporates a removable comfort pad for head support and fits snuggly to give full protection for patients who go into extension or have involuntary movements or behavioural problems. It is available in all sizes from XS to XL. Disposable versions available.

Oxford Standing Harness (Spreader Bar: 6 Point)The Standing Harness is a versatile sling with a wide range of uses. This includes assisting with standing and walking or visiting the toilet. The Standing Harness supports the patient around the upper body as well as under the arms. The Standing Harness is not a general-purpose sling and requires the patient to be able to partially weight bear.

Oxford Silkfit Sling (Spreader Bar: 6 Point)The Silkfit Sling is a flexible contoured, easy to fit sling designed to fit 85-90% of clients. This sling is especially suited to patients in moulded type wheelchair systems where fitting of the sling can prove difficult. It has integrated, boned head support and leg padding as standard. Available in four sizes - paediatric, small, medium and large.

Standing Sling (Stand-aid)The standing sling is suitable for those patients who have a greater degree of weight bearing ability. It allows excellent access for toileting and is easy to fit, providing quick and effective transfers. The adjustable waist strap and the non-slip back pad ensures the sling does not ride up during the transfer. This sling can be unsafe however, when used with the wrong patient, so a careful risk assessment is advised. Available in three sizes - small, medium and large.

Oxford Transport Sling (Stand-aid)The transport sling is suitable for those patients with a degree of weight bearing ability. It is easy to fit, allowing quick and effective transfers. Available in three sizes - small, medium and large.

Oxford Bariatric Hammock SlingThe Bariatric Hammock Sling is suitable for the safe transfer of bariatric patients. Made from a triple skinned, breathable material, it is particularly suited to patients who may have to remain in the sling for extended peri-ods.
