All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established by an Act of Parliament of 1956 as an autonomous institution of national importance and its objectives and functions were defined. Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana six new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences have been established similar to AIIMS, New Delhi. Government of India has decided that the Academic Session for the current year in six New AIIMS at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh, started in August 2015. The proposal is for an intake of 100 students for each of the institutions. AIIMS MBBS 2015 is a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi) for admission to MBBS programmes. AIIMS MBBS 2015 result will be the basis for admission to 672 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS institutions located at New Delhi, Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Raipur and Bhubaneswar. Among 672 MBBS seats in AIIMS, 72 are in AIIMS Delhi and reaming 600 seats are in 6 new AIIMS. Each new AIIMS has 100 seats for MBBS programmes.

AIIMS MBBS 2015 Eligibility: Important Highlights of AIIMS MBBS 2015 Eligibility Criteria are given below:

• Candidates born on or after January 2, 1999 are not eligible for AIIMS MBBS 2015 • Applicants have passed the 12 Class under the 10+2 Scheme/ Senior School Certificate

English with 60% marks while for SC/ST the qualifying marks is 50%

AIIMS MBBS 2015 Exam Pattern: AIIMS MBBS 2015 exam will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by examination authority AIIMS. The booklet of AIIMS MBBS 2015 exam will have 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.

AIIMS MBBS 2015 Question Paper will be provided either in English or in Hindi according to the choice of candidates. Therefore candidate must select in the space provided in the application form regarding preference to have the question paper in English or Hindi. The choice cannot be changed later

AIIMA MBBS 2015 Application Procedure: The AIIMS MBBS 2015 application procedure begins March 17, 2015. Candidates must note that AIIMS MBBS 2015 application form must be submitted online and no any other mode of application will be accepted. Incomplete AIIMS MBBS 2015 application form will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Last date for AIIMS MBBS 2015 application form is April 10, 2015

The cost of AIIMS MBBS 2015 application form for General/OBC Category is Rs. 1000 while for SC/ST candidates it is Rs. 800. OPH Candidates is exempted from any AIIMS MBBS 2015 examination fee. The payment of AIIMS MBBS 2015 exam fee can be remitted through Debit/Credit Card/Challan along with Service Tax as applicable.

AIIMS MBBS 2015 Admit Card: Candidates whose application will be accepted can download AIIMS MBBS 2015 admit card from May 16, 2015. Admit will have the candidate’s detail like name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions. It must be noted that AIIMS MBBS 2015 admit card will not be sent through post. AIIMS MBBS 2015 Cutoff: The cut off marks of AIIMS MBBS 2015 will depend on factors like number of applicants and difficulty level in the entrance exam. According to officials, AIIMS MBBS 2015 cut off marks for General category candidates will be 50% while for OBC 45% and for SC/ST 40%. OPH candidates will be required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in case of General Category candidates, 45% in case of OBC & 40% for SC/ST.

The eligibility criteria of AIIMS MBBS 2015 for candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) courses for academic session 2015 is mentioned in this article. According to AIIMS MBBS 2015 eligibility, candidates must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission and have passed 10+2/HSC with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Step – 2 – AIIMS MBBS 2015 Application Form

The cut off score of AIIMS MBBS 2015 entrance exam will be based on various factors such as availability of seats, number of applicants and difficulty level in the entrance examination. AIIMS MBBS 2015 cut off is a predetermined minimal score required for admission in MBBS course at 7 AIIMS like institutions including All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Important Highlights of AIIMS MBBS 2015 Cut off are mentioned below:

Candidate belonging from General category will be required to have 50% minimum marks in the entrance examination to qualify .Candidates belongs from OBC category must have a minimum 45% marks. SC/ST Categories candidates must have at least 40% minimum marks in the AIIMS MBBS 2015 Entrance Examination

As per latest information from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, OPH candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks in case of General Category candidates, 45% for OBC & 40% for SC/ST candidates

AIIMS MBBS 2015 examination will be held in two shifts and a normalization procedure will be used to determine percentile score corresponding to the above cut-offs. According to officials, the percentiles for the two shifts being dissimilar/unequal, the lower of the two will be the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e. both shifts).

For example if the 50% marks correspond to a Percentile score of 90 in Shift 1 and to a Percentile score of 88 in shift 2 and those equal to or above 88 Percentile (Percentile score of 100 to 88) in both shifts will become eligible in General Category .Similar method will be adopted for the other categories to determine eligibility cut-offs.

According to officials, AIIMS MBBS 2015 merit list will be based on AIIMS MBBS 2015 cut off. Candidates will be called for AIIMS MBBS 2015 Counselling based on their rank in merit list. And admission for 672 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS like institutions including All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, will be done on the basis of candidate’s rank in AIIMS MBBS 2015 merit list.




According to official, six new AIIMS like institution will have intake of 100 students through AIIMS 2015 MBBS merit list. The six new AIIMS like institution are situated in Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Raipur and Bhubaneswar.

AIIMS MBBS 2015 is a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi) for admission to MBBS programmes. AIIMS MBBS 2015 result will be the basis for admission to 672 MBBS seats in 7 AIIMS institutions located at New Delhi, Bhopal, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh, Raipur and Bhubaneswar. Among 672 MBBS seats in AIIMS, 72 are in AIIMS Delhi and reaming 600 seats are in 6 new AIIMS. Each new AIIMS has 100 seats for MBBS programmes.

Out of the 72 MBBS seats in AIIMS New Delhi, 11 (eleven) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes, 19 (nineteen) seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes and 37 (thirty seven) seats for General Category for Indian Nationals. A 3% reservation for Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped (OPH) shall be provided on horizontal basis.

Counselling Procedure




AIIMS MBBS 2015 counselling of successful candidates for admission to 672 MMBS seats in 7 AIIMS institutions will begin from July 6, 2015. The AIIMS MBBS 2015 counselling process to be conducted in 4 rounds including open selection phase. The AIIMS MBBS 2015 Counselling process will conclude with open selection on September 23, 2015. The AIIMS MBBS 2015 counseling process will be conducted as per the schedule at Jawaharlal Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi.

All reserved category candidates who qualify in the open (general) merit list (4 times of the open category seats i.e. up to rank number 1348) will necessarily attend the counseling for open category seats. If candidate is not present or if present, fails to or refuses to take a seat in open category, they will not be allowed for attending the counseling for reserved seats.

Those candidates from reserved category, who qualify & are allotted seats in open merit and wish to change their choice of institute under respective reserved category, will be required to participate in counseling for seats in these categories.

AIIMS MBBS 2015 Counseling Procedure:

• The following process will be adopted for counseling for all 7 AIIMS Institutes • During the counseling process open category seats will be filled first. Candidates will be called

for counseling based on their merit irrespective their category • Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) seats will be filled according to the candidate’s category. If

reserved category candidate who had taken admission under open competition and opts for other institution of their choice will be done according to the rules of reservation. The seat vacated by them in open category will be filled from the same reservation category only according to rank in merit list

• Note: All reserved category candidates who qualify in the open (general) merit list must attend the counseling for open category seats and exercise their option and if they desires to opt for a different institution in their respective reserved category, then they may attend the counseling meant for that reserved category

• If candidates is not present or fails to take a seat in open category, then they shall not be allowed for attending the counseling for reserved seats

• The counseling for reserved category seat will be held first only after filling up of all the unreserved seats

• Candidates who opted for AIIMS, New Delhi and got seat in AIIMS, New Delhi, will be required to report at 9:00 AM on July 6, 2015 for medical examination and admission formalities. These students are must to report for orientation program which will held on July 13, 2015

• Candidates who will be selected for AIIMS Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh and Jodhpur, would be guided by the help desk counter of respective AIIMS at the venue of counseling (i.e. Jawaharlal Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi). • In case during the open selection, any ST seat remains then these vacant seats will be transferred to SC category and vice versa. AIIMS MBBS 2014 Topper Pattisapu Srividya – All India Rank 1 Pattisapu Srividya from Visakhapatnam has topped AIIMS MBBS Exam Results announced on June 25. Though she has already achieved high ranks in other medical entrance exams including AIR 9 in JIPMER entrance test, 7th rank in EAMCET, AIR 8 in Manipal Medical Entrance Exam, and AIR 59 in AIPMT, AIR 1 in AIIMS makes leaves no doubt to her dream of entering into India’s top medical college.

Incidentally, Careers360 informed her about her AIIMS results on June 25. Immediately after AIIMS results were announced, Careers360 spoke to her on her outstanding performance, preparation strategy and hobbies. Read below this topper interview.

Interview Excerpts: Careers360: Congratulations Pattisapu Srividya for Rank 1 in AIIMS 2014 Entrance Exam! Pattisapu Srividya: Thank you so much sir. I am very happy and I can’t believe that I am rank 1 holder of the AIIMS Entrance Exam 2014. I did never imagine that I would top the AIIMS entrance. This came as a pleasant surprise for me.

Careers360: Please tell us about your family background. Pattisapu Srividya: My father P.V.S. Prasad works with State Bank of India and my mother J. Rajyalakshmi works with Canara Bank. I thank my parents for letting me choose to do what I wanted in my careers. I thank them for giving me freedom and space. Careers360: How did you prepare for AIIMS 2014? How much time did you devote for AIIMS? Pattisapu Srividya: Actually, I haven’t particularly prepared for the AIIMS because I was not confident that I could make through it. But I was studying regularly for the other medical exam like JIPMER,





EAMCET and AIPMT. I attribute my success to my love towards my studies. I really enjoy my studies but along with that I never compromise on my eight hours of sleep. Careers360: What is your rank in other medical exams this year? Pattisapu Srividya: I secured 9th rank in JIPMER, 7th in EAMCET, AIR 8th in Manipal Medical Entrance exam and 59th AIR in AIPMT. Careers360: Which subjects did you find easiest and toughest during preparation? Pattisapu Srividya: For me, easiest was the Chemistry and I didn’t find much difficulty in any other subject in the entrance exam. Careers360: Besides studies, what do you do? Do you like sports? Pattisapu Srividya: I love painting. It allows me to enhance my creative thought process. I also love to read J.K. Rowling’s novels and love the Harry Potter character. Careers360: Which is your favourite Hollywood movie? Which movie did you watch last time? Pattisapu Srividya: I watch movies regularly. I didn’t see any movie just before the exam.

Careers360: What is your dream in Medical studies. Pattisapu Srividya: I wish to study more on molecular biology and I am extremely fond of this domain.

Arvind Subramanian secured All India Rank 4 in AIIMS 2014 entrance examination and also obtained decent AIR in several other medical competitive examinations including JIPMER, KEAM, and AIPMT. Arvind primarily aimed JIPMER 2014 and cracked it with AIR 17. Though other medical entrance exams were secondary in his list, his AIR 4 in AIIMS reflects his full-proof preparation strategy for different

Medical entrance exams.

In this interview with Careers360, Arvind says he began preparing for medical exams right after his Class X board results. He says that his preparation strategy was to work hard and have clarityon basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects.

A reliable goalkeeper for his school football team in Class X, Arvind shares the rationale behind his emotional equation and reasons for preferring JIPMER over AIIMS to pursue his MBBS dream. The topper also talks on his fondness on reading science fiction novels and his aspiration to become neurologist.

Interview Excerpts: Careers360: Congratulations for remarkable performance in AIIMS MBBS 2014 and in other medical competitive examination. Arvind Subramanian: Thank you. I am very happy with results as I have managed to secure decent rank in other medical competitive examinations including JIPMER, KEAM, and AIPMT. I am eagerly waiting to embark on my journey to pursue the MBBS course.

Careers360: What is your rank in other medical exams this year? Did you target any specific exam to excel among others exams? Arvind Subramanian: I secured AIR 6, 17, 32 in KEAM, JIPMER, and AIPMT respectively. Yes, I put extra effort to crack Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research entrance examination. My mind was preoccupied with a desire to achieve good rank in JIPMER this year. There





was an emotional equation for the mentioned inclination. My elder brother is pursuing MBBS from JIPMER and I always aspired to join him. I am very fortunate that my hard work has paid off and I will soon enroll with JIPMER located in Pondicherry.

Careers360: Please share your exam preparation strategy. How did you divide your preparation schedule among the three subjects? Arvind Subramanian: Preparation strategy was to work hard and have clarity on basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. I started preparing the various medical competitive examinations simultaneously with my intermediate examinations. During my Intermediate first year, I invested a lot of time to strengthen zoology and botany subjects because these two subjects have vast theory part. Thus, Biology section demanded exam preparation to be started at early. Then, as I entered Intermediate last year, I also focused on physics. I made a point to attempt and solve at least 20 numerical a day within a set deadline to boost question-solving speed. This really helped me solve questions in time efficient manner during several entrance examinations. Careers360: What was preparation strategy a month before AIIMS 2014 exam? Arvind Subramanian: A month before the AIIMS 2014 exam, I was busy in revising notes and solving previous years sample papers after 10-15 days. Revision exercise allowed me to analyze my weak area and brought good improvement in my exam preparation. I also used to take 4-5 mock tests a week, which helped me to improve my question solving speed. And a day before the exam I indulged in activities like listening to music and playing video games to bust exam restlessness.

Careers360: It was a quite hectic schedule for you. Could you find time for outdoor activities? Arvind Subramanian: I agree it used to be hectic days for me. To break the monotony of regular study schedule, at times I used to play football and basketball matches with my friends. I was goalkeeper of my school football team in class X, which I passed out from Alphonsa Senior Secondary School, located in Calicut, Kerala. Playing matches refreshes my mind and increases my ability to focus.

Careers360: Which subject was the easiest and which was the toughest?




Arvind Subramanian: Chemistry was the easiest section for me. Physics was the toughest as the questions were time consuming in nature.

Careers360: Reasons to pursue MBBS? And your career plan after pursuing the course? Arvind Subramanian: I have already mentioned, my elder brother Abhinand Subramanian, an MBBS student at JIPMER, was my role model. My brother scored AIR 5 in AIPMT in the year 2011. He inspired me to enter this noble profession. I aspire to become neurologist.

Careers360: Are you fond of movies? Arvind Subramanian: I am not a big movie buff. Instead I prefer playing video games.But, recently just to accompany my friend I watched Malayalam movie titled “Banglore Days”, written and directed by Anjali Menon. For friends I am always ready to embrace such plans to spend quality time with them.

Careers360: Apart from studies, what falls in your interest zone? Arvind Subramanian: I love reading science fiction novels. I have read “Prey”, a techno thriller novel by Michael Crichton, and “Inheritance” by Christopher Paolini. I also like collecting stamps of different countries.

Careers360: At which medical college you are planning to seek admission? Arvind Subramanian: Undoubtedly, my only choice is JIPMER, Pondicherry. Yes, same emotional equation. I want to follow the footsteps of my elder brother, who is currently pursuing MBBS from JIPMER. So, I want to seek admission at JIPMER.




Central Government Proposes 5 New AIIMS in Budget 2015

Centre has announced 5 new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the Union Budget 2015 tabled in the parliament on February 2015. The new AIIMS will be set-up in the states of J&K, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam.

Announcing the set of 5 new AIIMS in the parliament during his maiden budget speech, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “In the fiscal year 2015-16, I propose to set up All India Institutes of Medical Sciences in J&K, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam.”

The new AIIMS will be established in J&K, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam respectively.

The previous set of 6 new AIIMS established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa) and Raipur (Chhattisgarh) have already become functional now. The admissions to these AIIMS were done through AIIMS MBBS entrance exam conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi.

Likewise the previous set of new AIIMS which began with 100 seats each, the 5 new AIIMS is expected to have a capacity of 100 MBBS seats each. At present, there are 7 AIIMS in operation in India including AIIMS, New Delhi. With the new set of five AIIMS, the total number of premier medical institution will go up to 12.Accordingly, the total number of seats is expected to go as high as 1200 in the upcoming academic sessions.

The intakes and details regarding academics and infrastructure, however, will be announced later. As per the AIIMS admission process, the admission to these new AIIMS is also likely to come under national level AIIMS MBBS entrance exam.
