professional role you will need to exhibit a mix
of skills…‘employability skills’
• ‘Soft skills’ that can be transferred between roles
may be just as important as the clinical skills
associated with the job
• Employability skills are those skills necessary for
getting, keeping and being successful in a job

Skills Auditing
• When you start applying for jobs you will need to record, reflect
& provide evidence to prove you can do the job
• Important to have a job description & person specification for a
particular job to refer to
• Add part time job version where you look at tasks first and then skills afterwards – add a slide which shows how to put it on a CV

• The variety of skills required for the job?
– Also, consider how your strengths match your preferred
options.

specialty itself or other factors such as staff shortages?
