Definition – Career Cluster

• Each of the 16 Career Clusters is a grouping of careers and broad industries based on “common” knowledge and skills

• Each Career Cluster represents the knowledge and skills, both academic and technical, that all learners within the cluster should achieve.

Definition: Pathways• A Pathway is a sub-grouping of related careers and

broad industries with a Career Cluster based on “common” knowledge and skills. A subset of related occupations within a career cluster.  Example:  Food Processing and Production is a career pathway found within the Agriculture Career Cluster

• The Pathway represents the knowledge and skills, both academic and technical, necessary to pursue a full range of career opportunities with a Pathway – ranging from entry level to management.
