Career Guidance and Placement Unit Activities 2016-2017

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell (CGPC) of the college is a voluntary organization guidedby faculty members and sudent representatives.The objectives of the unit are:

• To provide guidance and assistance for the students to achieve their career goals.• To guide and mptivate the students to succeed in qualifying examinations like GATE and

CAT and make them enable to join post graduate programmes in esteemed institutions• To provide information and assistance to students regarding

1. Jog oppertunities in India and abroad2. Opportunities for self employment3. Oppertunities for higher education in India and abroad4. Competetive examinations like GATE, CAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL etc.

The unit takes right steps in identifying the curent demands of the industry and prepares ourstudents towards tis need. Adequate emphasis is given for soft skill development complementing theregular academic programmes. Communicative English and aptitude training classes are beingconducted for students who are weak in comunication and inter personnel skills. Mock tests andgroup discussions are conducted in regular intervals to enable the students to improve theirperformance in competetive examinations.

In the academic year 2016-2017, we were able to arrange campus recruitment drives byorganizations that include Berger Paints, Huwai, Think Palm Technologies, UIT International, SLKsoftware, Armstech Tech., Federal Bank etc. Our students have attended placement drivesconducted by organizations that include CADD centre, Sutherland, Torry Harris in association withICT Academy of Kerala. We also conducetd pooled placement drives in association withEmployabiliy Bridge. Our students were also participated in the pooled campus drives organized byPoornam Infovision at GEC Plakkad and RoboSoft Technologies at MES Engineering Colege. Iaddition to this our students won the Ist place and the best performer award in the Digital Indaicompetetion held at Taj Hotel on 30-03-2017 conducted by R. Subramanyam Educationaltrust,Coimbatore.
