Career Expo provides you with an opportunity to identify career opportunities by meeting organizations offering Full-Time, Internship, Co-op, Summer and Part-Time positions or speaking with employer contacts, some of whom are alumni, to explore career options in your major and/or minor. You will walk away with information, professional contacts, and access to job openings.

Collect business cards from recruiters with whom you speak or those you would like to contact in the future.

Ask the recruiter for advice on the best way to follow up on current or future openings.

Ask recruiters for suggestions on resources available to research the employers, career field and industry.

Be sure to write a prompt follow-up thank you letter or make a phone call using the contact from the business cards that you’ve collected! It helps to reiterate your interest!

What’s Available for My Major? Remember that although employers have listed the majors they are seeking for particular positions, the representative at the table may be from the HR department and therefore may have knowledge of a variety of other opportunities at that employer. So, if you are really interested in working for a particular employer, but your major isn’t listed, talk with the representative anyway. He/she may be able to provide you with a contact who could help you get the position that you are seeking.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to progress towards passing the CPA exam

Valid Driver’s license

La Salle University Graduate Programs

Counseling and Family Therapy Table # 2

Master of Arts degrees are offered in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology—Management and Human Resources. Students can attend on either a full-time, an accelerated full-time, or a part-time

basis for the Marriage and Family Therapy Program or the Professional Clinical Counseling Program. The I/O Management and Human Resources is only offered part-time. Students are able to take courses at any of La Salle's three campuses: Main Campus; Bucks

County Center; or at the Plymouth Meeting Center. An Accelerated Full Time Weekend Option for MFT and PCC at Plymouth Meeting. English Table # 3 An innovative Master of Arts degree program that offers a curriculum with two tracks: The M.A. in English for Educators for middle or secondary school teachers requires 9 courses plus a critical-pedagogical project for

a total of 30 credits. Teachers are not restricted to the first track and may matriculate into the other professional M.A. track. The M.A. in English in Literary and Cultural Studies for other professionals also requires 9 courses plus either a thesis or a

comprehensive examination for a total of 30 credits. Additionally, as part of the Master’s program or independent of it, students can combine four courses drawn from both within the English program and other graduate programs at La Salle to earn certificates in the following areas:

Media Studies and the Performing and Visual Arts

The Hispanic Institute at La Salle University was founded in 2005 by Dr. Luis A. Gómez. Director. The purpose of the Institute is to offer professional academic programs that provide bilingual and bicultural education to all professionals serving the Hispanic communities throughout the region and the nation. Currently the Institute offers six programs:

Masters in Bilingual/Bicultural Studies

Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation

Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (M.A. in TESOL)

Certificate in Interpretation in English/Spanish-Spanish/English

Certificate in Translation English/Spanish-Spanish/English

The ESL Specialist Program History Table # 5 M.A. in History: Students in pursuit of a traditional M.A. in History will be prepared for doctoral programs and numerous professional careers. Through the historiography course, three "readings" courses, and history elective(s), students will expand upon previous undergraduate work, while the advanced analytical courses prepare the student for interdisciplinary research. M.A. in History for Educators: The appeal for all teachers with Pennsylvania teaching certificates is that this program will broaden and deepen their knowledge of history in order to maintain active certification status (in conformity with Act 48) and reach the "highly qualified teacher" category by mastery of content knowledge. Non-matriculating degree students will have the option of enrolling in a series of courses leading to a certificate in one of four areas: European History, American History, World History, or Teaching Advanced Placement History. This option will appeal especially to educators seeking to qualify for Act 48 or "highly qualified" status. Human Capital Development Table # 6

The completely online curriculum is designed for human resource practitioners and managers with workforce development responsibilities. It is a cutting-edge alternative to traditional human resource and business administration degrees. As a human resource professional, the Master of Science in Human Capital Development program will teach you how to serve as an internal or external adviser to management at all levels, especially senior management, working to transform the current workforce into the workforce needed one, three, or five years out. You will learn to develop, implement, and measure strategic human capital plans for your organization. MBA Programs Table # 7

More than 35 years ago, the La Salle School of Business launched one of the region’s first MBA programs and to this day, it remains at the forefront of business education. Through its devotion to students and dedication to outstanding teaching, our AACSB-accredited MBA program enables students to develop and strengthen their leadership skills and functional knowledge necessary for career advancement.
