What is Carecall ?Carecall is a 24 hourTele-monitoring service for olderand vulnerable people in theStockport area. It can be usedfor customers who may havea medical condition, such asepilepsy or diabetes or used tosupport independence, securityand peace of mind. Emergenciesare responded to within minutes byarranging help from a nominated friend, your doctor,emergency services or from fully trained, friendly mobilewardens.

What equipment is required?Carecall’s unit is simply connected to a standard BT socketand power point in your home. The unit has an in-builtmicrophone and a powerful loud speaker enables you to beheard at a distance.

Is it easy to use?Once the equipment is installedwithin your home, you will betaken through the instructionsuntil you fully understand howit works. You will be given apendant to wear around yourneck. By pressing the alarmbutton on the unit or thependant, your personal code is

instantly recognised by the Tele-monitoring Centre’scomputer and a two way speech link is set up with theCentre. Carecall staff are on hand 24 hours a day, 365days a year to provide help and advice should you need it.

Will I have to give my details when I press thebutton?No, if the Centre receives an alarm call from you, theCentre’s computer will identify you and display your relevantinformation on screen. This includes your name andaddress, medical conditions, GP’sdetails and personal contact namesin case assistance is needed.

How much does it cost?There is an initial installationcharge of £25.60 and then aweekly charge of £5.19 (whichis subject to inflation) for aslong as you require the unit.Gift vouchers are available bycalling Customer Financeon 0161 474 2820.
