Quality. Service. Health.
In my family there are several cases of hypertension and I wanted to prevent it. I requested a genetic cardiovascular risk study from GENYCA to confirm my fears. Since then, I have followed a few habits my doctor recommended and now I have normal blood pressure. When I received the results eight years ago, I told them to my twin sister, but she lives far away and did not know how to take care of herself. I hope to continue controlling my blood pressure for many years and not end up like my sister, who already has hypertension.

GENYCA receives samples and forms through delivery service.
Take an oral mucosa sample and send it to GENYCA, together with the specialist’s service request form and the patient’s statement of consent.

What is cardiovascular risk?Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels that encompass various medical conditions such as arterial hypertension, venous thromboembolism, thrombophilia, dyslipidemia and heart attack. CVDs affect many middle-aged people and remain the leading cause of death worldwide. As much as 80% of premature deaths from CVDs could have been avoided through predictive studies.
GENYCA’s various genetic tests for cardiovascular risk in individuals are...
SIMPLE. Only require an oral mucosa sample.
PREVENTIVE. Early prevention can save lives.
DEFINITIVE. The results are valid for life.
FAMILIAL. Results can also help early prevention in at-risk family members.
Cardiovascular risk genetic studiesGENYCA offers four different saliva-based genetic tests, targeting four different areas of cardiovascular risk:
• Arterial hypertension. Genes: NOS3, ADRB2, ACE, GNB3.• Dyslipidemia and heart attack. Genes: ACE, APOA5, APOC3, APOE.• Venous thromboembolism (VTE). Genes: Prothrombin (Factor 2), Factor V
Leiden, FGB, SERPINE1 (PAI-1), MTHFR.• Thrombophilia and oral contraceptives. Genes: Prothrombin (Factor 2) and
Factor V Leiden.
The objective of these studies is to preemptively screen for the risk of cardiovascular disease and allow for the prevention of the onset of such conditions through personalised treatments.
For whom are these tests recommended?People with a family history of cardiovascular disease.
Did you know?9.4 million deaths annually (16.5% of all deaths) can be attributed to high blood
pressure. 51% of these deaths are caused by
stroke and another 45% are caused by coronary
heart disease.
