What is cardiovascular risk?Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels that encompass various medical conditions such as arterial hypertension, venous thromboembolism, thrombophilia, dyslipidemia and heart attack. CVDs affect many middle-aged people and remain the leading cause of death worldwide. As much as 80% of premature deaths from CVDs could have been avoided through predictive studies.
