What is Cardio?CARDIOVASCULAR fitness is the fitness

of the heart, blood and blood vessels.“Cardio” is another word for heart, and

“vascular” refers to blood vessels. Of all the parts of fitness, this part is one of the best for helping you feel good and enjoy life more.

Cardiovascular fitness helps you look good because the exercises you do to maintain your fitness help you control your weight and develop a good physique (figure). Having good cardiovascular fitness increases your energy level and you can be active for longer periods without tiring or becoming out of breath.

The Beep TestThis test involves continuous running

between two lines 20m apart in time to recorded beeps. For this reason the test if also often called the 'beep' or 'bleep' test. The test subjects stand behind one of the lines facing the second line, and begin running when instructed by the cd or tape. The speed at the start is quite slow. The subject continues running between the two lines, turning when signaled by the recorded beeps.

The beep test has been shown to help people evaluate their heart health. The longer you can stay within running with the beats, the healthier your heart is.
