OUR AIM

Our Aim is simple, to offer a one-stop clinic service that prompts consultations by leading specialists who use the latest equipment to diagnose and treat patients.

Our Cardiac tests

• Rest ECG – An electrocardiogram or ECG is a test used by doctors to record and analyse the electrical information produced by your heart, including its beat and rhythm. This information can then be used to find any irregularities and thus begin treatment as soon as possible. A Rest ECG is simply an electrocardiogram that is taken when the patient is resting.

• Stress ECG – An ECG that is taken when the patient’s heart is under a certain amount of stress, such as when the patient is at maximum physical exertion, and the information can then be compared to a rest ECG to identify inconsistencies or potential problems.

• Ambulatory ECG – An ECG that is taken when the patient is conducting normal activities during a day, such as going to work or driving.

• Echocardiogram – An Echocardiogram is a means of doctors working out the structure and function of a patient’s heart, and thus able to diagnose any problems that may arise. This procedure uses an ultrasound, or a very high frequency sound, much like that used for pregnant women to check foetal development, to analyse the structure of the heart.

• 24hrs Ambulatory Blood Pressure – A process where your blood pressure is continually measured for a 24hr period whilst you continue to do normal activities, such as working or cooking.

• 24hrs ECG + Ambulatory Blood Pressure (2in1)

• Cardiac Event Monitor – These small devices are similar to ECGs, however, they monitor heart activity for a number of hours, rather than just a few seconds, as an ECG would do. This allows doctors to diagnose potential problems that an ECG would not be able to.

• Checking Pace maker – For those patients with pacemakers, a check to see whether there are any problems with the device itself, or if a new pacemaker may need to be installed would be considered.

• Test to check the Lung Function – A spirometer may be used to measure the volume of your lungs and how this varies as you inhale and exhale.

Our Screening Packages

• Full medical check up• Arrhythmia/Palpitation Assessment – Conducted via an ECG for example, but can

use a number of other tests as mentioned above. • Cardiac Risk / Chest Pain/ Stroke Assessment – An identification of the risk factors

for cardiovascular disease is used, along with lifestyle changes. • Blood Pressure Screening – Using a blood pressure sphygmomanometer, one can

check a patient’s blood pressure, that provides systolic and diastolic results, eg 120/80, and high blood pressure can be identified via this method.

• Diabetic Screening- A test to identify whether a patient is suffering from Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.

• Tumour Screening – A broad term to identify whether a patient may have a development of cancer, or visual tumours around their body. A number of tests are required before someone may be diagnosed with cancer.

• Sports Performance Profile – For Athletes, an analysis into how to improve their performance, or what is currently limiting their performance at this stage.

• Pre Travel Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT Screen – A doctor would check the patient’s heart and lungs, and legs for changes in skin colour, bulging veins or swelling.

• Post - Travel Screen – A screening to identify is a patient may have picked up uncommon or foreign diseases or infections whilst travelling.

• Virology Screening – Screening to identify whether a patient may be infected with a virus or viruses.

• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Screening – A gradual screening to identify if a patient may be suffering from extreme fatigue.

Ultrasound imaging

• Abdominal Ultrasound – An ultrasound (where high frequency sound is used as an imaging technique) is used to provide an image of the patient’s abdominal area, and in particular the organs within that area, such as the stomach.

• Transvaginal Scan – A scan used to image the reproductive organs of a woman, and the scanner is placed through the vagina.

• Carotid Doppler Scan – An ultrasound is used to check the condition of a patient’s carotid arteries, responsible for supplying blood to the brain, and if blocked, can lead to a stroke. By checking for an build up of plaque, a doctor can diagnose preventative measures to avoid the stroke in time.

• Arterial and Venous Leg Vascular Ultrasound – Ultrasound used to check vein and artery diameters within the leg, and thus the potential diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis. Potential blockages can also be identified.

• Thyroid Gland Ultrasound – To identify nodules within the thyroid gland, which is responsible for producing a number of hormones, and thus due to the tiny nature of the thyroid gland and nodules, physical examinations may not be accurate enough, but ultrasound provides a detailed image of the thyroid.

• Testes Ultrasound – Ultrasound of the male Testes organs. The transducer of the ultrasound is passed over the scrotum, and any inflammations, tumours of testicular cancer or injuries around the genital area may be analysed.

Electrolyte profile – Blood test analysing general electrolytes in the blood such as calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium. Lipid Profile – Testing the levels of Lipids (fats) such as HDL (High-density Lipids) and LDL (low-density lipids), to check what the potential for cardiovascular disease may be. General Chemistry Profile – The general health of the patient taking into account a number of the tests mentioned above. Here is what our Clients have to say “Testimonials “

I recently visited the Cardiac Screen Centre and was given an excellent professional service. I am very happy with the service provided, Rekha is knowledgeable, friendly and made me feel at ease. I felt able to ask questions at anytime and I would recommend this centre to others.

A very friendly clinic in general, fellow patients seemed just as friendly and happy with the service. A relaxing and clean space with the nice addition of hot drinks and snacks for post blood tests! I was extremely pleased with my consultant’s advice, help and knowledge on any matters of concern I had. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends.

The service provided by Cardiac Screen was second-to-none. The efficient and friendly service exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend the services to other people.

Thank you for a very informative and enlightening examination at the clinic last Monday
