Seabreeze 2015The 2015 Seabreeze Walking Festival is

already history! One year’s planning by yourhard-working Seabreeze Committee and helpfrom a total of 30 enthusiastic volunteers re-sulted in another resounding success. 375 par-ticipants, our highest number yet, came from

around the Northwest to enjoy six walkingroutes and one bicycle event. They completed1067 festival events, as well as 114 walks of thetwo Ocean Shores year-rounds. So many peo-ple commented on the friendly welcome pro-vided by our club members, the excellent layoutof the Lions Club, the interesting walkingroutes, the yummy soup and cookies, the deli-cious Italian dinner, and the FANTASTIC

WEATHER! How could it have been moreperfect?

We sold nine New-Walker Packets andhope these individuals will continue to walkwith us. In addition, we gained a couple newclub members. Welcome to Jack and DonnaZeiger! Upon observing so many people walk-ing and having fun, one Ocean Shores womandropped in to see what was happening. Shewas pleased to see pictures of her neighbor’syard of beach combed treasures on our informa-tion board and her own house featured on thecover of the Oyehut YRE notebook. She de-cided to walk with us for two days.

Kudos to everyone, with special mentionto Perki and Peter for their outstanding PR, toJim for his design of the brochure, Jeanne and

helpers for providing interesting walk routesand beautiful printed directions, Pat H for herprocurement of the prizes and her and Yoko’spresentation of them to the winners, Bob andJohn for the Bob and John Show at dinner,Karen for so ably managing dinner ticket sales,Barb and Susan for great soups, and Sheila andLinda P for registration that ran like a well-oiled machine.

Home baked cookies, delicious homemadesoups, hot coffee, smiles and more smiles—allprovided the extras, which people have come toexpect, when CVC puts on an event. When itbecame apparent people wanted group walks,

Bob offered to guide a group on Sat. morning, and John led a popular evening beach walk onSun. night. Bill and Norm were outstanding intheir willingness to be “on call” for anything thatneeded to be done. Mert, Bill, and Holly pitchedin to recycle, which helped to solve the garbageissue. Susan’s arrangement for the ESVA meet-ing brought additional participants to the festival. In addition, Walking Adventures Internationalgave a generous donation, which helped offsetthe cost of the Lions Club rental. Many othersplayed important roles, but there’s just notenough room to mention everyone. You knowwho you are, Blue Shirts. We couldn’t havedone it without you. Liz and Bonnie
