THE GLYLEACHTM PROCESS
The GlyLeachTM process is a leaching process for extraction of base and precious metals using glycine as the lixiviant. Features of the process are:-Usesanenvironmentallybenignlixiviantthatiscommerciallyavailableinbulkandindifferentgrades;-Canbeadoptedforuseinagitatedtank,vatorheapleaching-Selectiveinleachingvaluablebaseandpreciousmetals-doesn’tleachganguemineralslikeironandmanganesemakingdownstreamprocessingmucheasier-Itisnotchemicallyconsumedsoasaprimaryreagentitisrecoverableandrecyclable–providingamajoradvantageinoperatingcosts-OperatesinanAlkalinesystem–nospecialmaterialsofconstruction-enablescementagglomerationandfinercrushsizeswithbetterheapstabilityandpermeabilityinheapleaching-Suitablewithanyconventionaldownstreamprocessesformetalrecoveryfrompregnantliquors-Glycinewhenheatedto40-60degreeswillextractgoldofferingacyanide-freeoption
THE GLYCATTM PROCESS The GlyCat process is a variation to GlyLeachTM where cyanide is typically added to the glycine in very small quantities. For gold deposits with low levels of copper, GlyCatTM typically reduces cyanide consumption by over 80%. Features of the process are:-Ambienttemperature-Cyanideconsumingcopperremovedinearlyleachingphases-Glycineisrecoveredandreusedsolowreagentcosts-ReducesWADcyanidelevelsintailingstobelowthethresholdrequiredforde-toxification-Coppercanberecoveredasabyproduct(coppersulphide,coppersulfate)

Frankhasmore than 50 years’ experience in themining industry in a rangeofrolessuchasDirector,ManagingDirector,SeniorExplorationGeologist,PitGeologist, Mine Geologist and Lecturer/ Teacher at the Western AustralianSchoolofMines.Hehasexpertiseintheareasofoperatingpilotplants,heapleaching of copper, mine operation and the manufacturing and supply ofreagentstotheminingindustry.
Tim has 25 yearsmining industry experience covering a range of technical andoperationalroles.Hehasworkedoncomplexhydrometallurgicalplantsincludingnickel laterite pressure leach, copper heap leach, zinc refining, uranium, andrefractory gold operations, set up metallurgical laboratories and run extensivesite-basedprograms,particularlyheapleaching.Timwasco-founderandtechnicaldirector of Simulus Engineers for 8 years, helping establish the company as asignificantpresenceinthemetallurgicalservicesindustry.
Rueben is a Process Engineer with 15 years’ experience in technologydevelopment, implementation and operational support. He has a strongbackground in R&D and process design with specific focus on the copperindustry.PreviouslyCopperProcesses LeaderatBHPTechnologyandProjectandBusinessDevelopmentManageratCSIRO.
