Capabilities and Experience
Sports Facility ITS We provide Clients with a unique level of service due to our knowledge of all aspects of the
facilities technology including security, revenue collection, environmental control, broadcast,
advertising, media connectivity and life safety systems, together with private and public wired
and wireless broadband access. These can be run on a common network infrastructure which
provides an excellent return on investment through its flexibility to accommodate new
technologies and revenue streams as they develop.
Tuckers Consultancy are able to draw on the knowledge and experience of key BICSi RCDD
professionals who understand both IT and building installed systems. They are augmented by
our close knit team of technologists located at our main office in Canary Wharf, London and a
world-wide network of contacts. We have network, mechanical and electrical design, CAD and
BIM (Building Information Modelling) expertise in house.
Our Consultancy services are tailored to the needs of our Clients and range from strategic to
detailed design, quality control, project management and operational training on new builds. For
existing facilities we can provide capacity reviews, resilience audits and energy efficiency
improvement studies.
Our advice is based on extensive experience but with reference to applicable standards and
recommendations such as published by ANSI/TIA and BICSi
Tuckers Consultancy have no partnership agreements with any vendor or manufacturer. Our
business model does not rely on selling products so we always take a completely independent
view on what is best for our customer.
Case Studies
Training Centre for English Premiership Football Club
Through close consultation with the Client we identified all the technology systems that would
be required to support this world class training centre including security, player performance
monitoring, audio visual, teaching aids, staff data network, media broadband and broadcast
connections, internal environmental control, lighting control and irrigation systems. A strategy
was then developed to run all these systems on a common IP platform. Specifications for the
cabling, equipment accommodation, network hardware and all other parts of the ITS network
were then provided to the Contractor and implementation targets identified to enable networks
to be live in time for building commissioning. Finally the work was supervised and signed off on
completion.

Page 2 of 2 The network in the training centre and academy building exceeded 1200 outlets and the
campus fibre cabling was more than 11kM in total. However this has proved to be much
cheaper to install and run than a myriad of bespoke private networks.
New stadium for English Premiership football club
We have identified the technology systems required in this world class new stadium including
security, revenue protection, PoS (Point of Sale), life safety, broadcast and broadband media,
broadcast and private network TV, environmental and other digital systems. A means of running
these on a common IP network has been identified and an outline design developed to enable
spaces and infrastructure to be planned into the development, this should avoid the problems
that have occurred on previous similar projects where the ITS has not been incorporated in the
overall design.
Detailed design of the ITS systems is due to commence shortly.
ITS into old football stadium
Various designs have been developed and implemented over the past few years to enable this
dated stadium to continue to function with new technologies such as wireless data access, 3D
TV broadcasting and IP based security systems.
In particular the club’s qualification for the Champions League generated an urgent requirement
to accommodate up to 200 reporter stations, each of which required analogue, ISDN and
broadband connections. Due to space and length restrictions these could only be
accommodated by innovative use of multi-pair standard data cables.
New stadium for lower league English football club
This project is due to commence construction soon and Tuckers Consultancy have been
engaged for some time to help develop the Facilities Technology elements of the design. The
procurement has been delayed by funding issues so it is important that the ITS infrastructure is
flexible to accommodate technology developments such as public wifi, public address and
broadcaster facilities.
We will commence final design shortly and we have provided the Client with confidence that the
pathways, spaces and budgets identified will be sufficient to support the various systems on a
common network infrastructure.
New youth football training facility
This project was funded by a charity so budgets were very tight. However it still required a fairly
extensive ITS system to support data, telephony, CCTV, PoS and provide some flexibility for
future expansion of the facility. It was identified that there was no likely future need for data
rates in excess of 1Gb/s so a Cat 5e system was specified and installed as part of the M&E
works designed by Tuckers Consultancy.
