Can’t remember your logins?

How to use the Bookmarks Toolbar to save them.

(great for online bill pay!)

First, you need to be able to see your bookmarks toolbar. If you do not already have a bookmarks

toolbar set up, here is how you see it:

VIEWTOOLBARSCheck BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR

You should now see your bookmarks toolbar! As you can see, I have many

folders! Each of these folders contains links to websites I use frequently.

To create a new folder, right-click on the bookmarks toolbar and click New Folder

Name your folder and click Add. You can add any number of folders and links inside

a folder.

You can always rename your folder later by right-clicking on the folder.

Go to the URL you want to bookmark. I will add a Twitter bookmark to my Test Folder.

Click the URL to highlight it.

Click and drag the icon (in this case, a lock) into the folder on your bookmarks toolbar.

Mouse-over the link you just created. Right-click on the link and click PROPERTIES.

You can change several things here. I usually shorten the Name of the website in the Name box so it doesn’t take up too much room on the bookmarks

toolbar.

I also type in my login info in the Descriptions box. If I forget my login, I can always go to the Properties box and see it.

For online bill pay, the Description box is a great place to put customer service phone numbers!

If you prefer, you can type in your login in the name box. Be careful with this though because it

will show in the bookmark link.

This is what it looks like when I mouse-over the link. If you

typed your login info, it would show here.

Sample link that includes login info. Again, please be careful—anyone can see this if they have

access to your computer.
