Can Support Groups & Services Support

• Men’s cancer support group. Meet every 4th Monday 1-2.30pmpm at the Centre • Womens cancer support group. Meet every 3rd Monday 1-2.30pm at the Centre • South Wairarapa Any Cancer Support group: Meets every 2nd Monday at Richmond House 2

Fitzherbert Street Featherston • Blood Lymphoma Leukemia and Myeloma Support Group. Meet x3 a year for a shared lunch with

partners and/or spouses/ carers. • Dragon Boating Team. Cancer Society Wairarapa Dragon Boat Team. Open to all cancer survivors

and their supporters for fun and fitness. • Volunteer Driving Service; If you are having treatment out of the area and have no-one who can

transport you we offer the volunteer driving team. Education

• Living with Bowel Cancer Legacy Programme. This is 4 session informative course is about learning to cope and live with your cancer.

• Public Education Seminars. Information sessions with a focus on health promotion & cancer July Update

• Look Good Feel Better Course. A free one day workshop offered to women undergoing treatment for cancer. Let us put a smile on your face when you are pampered for a day. Ring for information about the next programme.

• Moving On after Breast Cancer. This is a 4 session course for those completing treatment and asking what now? Call us to enroll.

Therapies Talk to our support nurse about the therapies available in our Koru iti Room: • Counselling: • Mindfulness Meditation. • Therapeutic Massage • Relaxation • Prosthesis & Bra Fitting Also compression sleeves, wigs and turbans advice. Softies and silkies

available free to those having breast surgery. Pre -surgical breast care packs available. To Lend & Hire

• Library books and cancer information, including DVD’s. • Temporary compression sleeves while travelling for preventing lymphoedema • Emergency wigs scarves turbans beanies and caps. • Shadeloan equipment
