The heart of Halliburton's VannSystem service is the VannGun assembly. The VannGunassembly uses bi-directional boosters, nonlead azide explosives, specialized connectors andinserts, and high velocity-low shrink detonating cord. All these, as well as premium qualitygun material, are manufactured to Halliburton's proprietary specifications. The primarydesign factors for these components are safety and reliability.

All VannGuns incorporatemachined scallops. This helps to optimize chargeperformance and preventscasing damage fromperforating exit hole burrs.Additionally, shot phasing isdesigned to maintain theintegrity and collapse resistanceof the casing after perforating.
