Dear Players and Parents, The biggest youth rugby festival in the Middle East is once again upon us this weekend, as we represent the Dubai Hurricanes RFC with some 31 teams from the U6 to U18 squads, including two U12 Girls squads for the first time. This amounts to over 400 Mini & Youth players which makes it a truly remarkable event for the club. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our Club Values and their importance when we participate as the Dubai Hurricanes RFC: · Respect. We respect all cultures and encourage cultural understandings when playing the game of rugby.

· Family. We emphasize the importance of parental support and participation in helping develop the child in a sport that is often physically demanding as well as rewarding.

· Sportsmanship. We value the need to be humble, both in victory and defeat, so that our players are respected both on and off the field. These values, combined with our ethos of ‘winning is not a necessity, it’s a reward’ is what has made the ‘Canes Mini & Youth so successful today. I request that you as players and parents please read and become familiar with the Tournament Rules and in particular the Player and Parent Code of Conduct on page 5. This is an important time for the Club with sponsor renewals being applied for from our key sponsors. They will be attending the festival. Finally, I would like to thank all the team coaches, managers and volunteers that have prepared the teams for competition, and particular note to Phil Story and Kim Primmer who have represented the club in the organisation of the event. It will be a remarkable and memorable weekend for the all the right reasons. Good luck to each and every team, play hard, play fair and listen to your coaches. WDYP4?

The u12's will be the Hurricanes only touring side this season, and will be heading to Madrid at the end of March. Whilst there, they will have matches against 4 clubs and have a great opportunity to develop their rugby skills and meet some new rugby friends at the same time.

The squad would like to say a very big thank you to Mr Paul Greenwood for his donation of 10,000 Dhs and to Mr Rob Gold for his donation of 5,000 Dhs to kick start our fund raising.

We appreciate their generosity.

The squad is putting together a touring kit and will be seen out and about travelling in it. If any company is interested in supporting the team further through donations, either for a place on kit or space in our tour brochure, please request a sponsors’ pack asap by emailing

including a quiz night!
