Dear Potential Candidate, I hope this finds you preparing for a wonderful and productive semester. As each term begins, Beta Alpha Psi, the Accounting Honor Society, evaluates students who have expressed an interest in Accounting and Finance for potential membership in the society. The purpose of Beta Alpha Psi is to recognize outstanding academic achievement, promote the study and practice of your profession, provide opportunities for self- development and association among members and practicing professionals, and to encourage a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibilities. We do this by sponsoring and participating in a multitude of professional events, which allow you to explore all aspects of your profession and to network with practicing professionals. We also give back to our community through service events and develop strong friendships through social activities. Employers recognize that membership in Beta Alpha Psi represents excellence and that its activities supplement your education. As a result of your academic achievements to date, Beta Alpha Psi would like to extend an offer for you to join! You will be evaluated over a one-year period and are expected to make a strong commitment to the organization. The criteria candidates must meet within a full academic year to be initiated into Beta Alpha Psi is as follows: 12 Service Hours 12 Professional Hours 32 Total Hours Regular Attendance of Beta Alpha Psi Chapter Meetings If you are interested in joining, please submit the application enclosed in this packet to Dr. Keener, JS 273 by Wednesday, September 15th at 4:00pm, along with your check for $150.00 payable to Beta Alpha Psi. If you are undecided, have questions, or just want more information, please attend out Interest Meeting on Tuesday September 14th at 10pm in Reeves Theatre.
