• About 24,930 new cancer cases are expected to be
diagnosed in Louisiana 2013. This estimate does not
include carcinoma in situ of any site except urinary
bladder, and does not include basal cell and
squamous cell skin cancers, which are non-reportable
cancer; almost 68 cases per day.
• About 9,040 persons are expected to die of cancer in
Louisiana in 2013; almost 25 deaths per day.
