Impact on farmers livelihoodsAs You Sée in the above slide how much olive tree productivity

increased and by simple calculations we can see that the productivity increased by 125 kg olive to give 30 kg olive oil which means 120 jd per dunum .

Further more we keep the trees alive because we make water available for irrigation and some farmers shown that they have extra amount of water , and they began to plant vegetables for home use

• Impact on local communities• Increasing the amount of water that reaches the land of the farmer

within the same period of time assigned to him encouraged them to discuss with the project utilization of the best irrigation techniques like drip irrigation in order to save more water that can be used to

intensively cultivate empty areas between trees to increase their incomes

• Enough production for local use and for national use (no need to buy from outsource)

Impact on natural resource

• Facilitating access to the water in the springhead. • Increasing water flow to the spring. • Reducing the rate of water wasted directly from the soil or through

evaporation. • Making water reach agricultural land in an easier manner. • Increasing cultivated areas. • Increasing the productivity of irrigated trees. • Saving time and efforts exerted in the irrigation of tree

SWOT analysis resultsStrengths of your organization when the innovation has been implemented

Weaknesses of your organization when the innovation has been implemented

Opportunities (external factors from the environment)

Threats(external factors from the environment)

1. good expertise of the area and the technical capacity /knowledge concerning olive oil production and irrigation technique.

2. High demand from farmers on canal rehabilitation.

3. good project reputation in the area,

4. participatory approach in preparing CAPs and forming LCC give project a comprehensive idea about problems facing farmers .

5. Your participative management is demand driven. Thus, people are proactive.

6. The amount of funds was sufficient to finance more than 70% of farmer's investment.

7. good relationships with local contractors. That facilitates the rehabilitation program.

8. Farmers are willing to adopt new technologies such as concrete pool and drip irrigation.

9. Farmers willing in increasing olive tree productivity

1. differences within the village between members of the same family

2. Unwillingness of farmers to cut trees Perennials

3. Prevalence of property in land

1-Availability of springs in the planted area

2 -Local contractors availability make works easier

3 -The approval of a number of farmers to carry out cut and trim trees in the beginning.

4 -Clarity path ducts for water

5 -Necessity to increase the amount of water available to farmers to irrigate trees

6 – water user association(WUA) forming will increase the sustainability of work

1. Low rainfall in the past years

2. Decrease spring flow

3. Available of finance

4. Tender paper to be ready in time ( management risk )

5. Tender prices to be within the same expected cost

Recommendations to policy-makers to scale-up the innovation, and to remove constraints

1. The best way to achieve sustainable and true community development is to paying attention to the needs of local communities; giving them a chance to take about their own problems; and working with them to solve these problems, in addition to make sure not to promise them things that cannot be achieved.

2. Associations of water users are urgently needed especially in the areas where springs and waterways exist in order to preserve the sustainability of available establishments.

3. It is necessary to make sure that these associations have the necessary capacities for managing and preserving available constructions, as well as undertaking the needed training for its members.

4. It is highly important to pay attention to environmental consequences of the activities we undertake. Available projects, and even associations, may receive additional fund
