Reflection

I chose this picture because it reminds me of all the nights I have spent gazing up at the stars. I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than a prairie sky on a clear night. You look up and all you see is stars, thousands upon thousands of little lights against a black backdrop. This picture doesn’t even do the real thing justice. I don’t believe that a starry night sky is something that you can capture in a photograph; it is something you have to see with your own eyes. I think this picture represents Canada because Canada is one of the few places that you can get such a clear view of the night sky. Everywhere else is too over populated. I think that we are very lucky to have such a good view into the universe.

Reflection

I chose this picture because it reminds me of the pasture land my family use to own. This land was located south of Rouleau, and it is probably the only un-farmable land in the area. A small creek weaves its way through the centre of the land, and every time it rains you can guarantee that the water will rise up over the banks. This became a problem a couple years ago when we had an extremely wet spring and summer. The land became completely submerged in water just like in this picture. It was no longer a pasture, it was a bog. We had to use a boat to transport feed to the livestock! Despite all the extra work it caused, I will never forget how beautiful the sunset looked reflecting off the water.

Reflection

We are very privileged to live in a country that is home to some of the best Alpine ski hills in the world. Our mountains are filled with meters of deep powder that is just waiting to be carved up. I have always felt a deep connection to the mountains. There is something magical about the view from the top of snow covered mountain. Snow capped, pine trees, foggy clouds, and clear blue skies, it seems like such an impossible combination. I think that is why I find it so amazing. There is just something so majestic about it all. I have to say, I think mountains are my favourite part of the Canadian landscape.

Reflection

The Northern Lights are a natural wonder that you have to see with your own eyes. The way they dance across the night sky is something truly spectacular. I grew up watching the Northern Lights. At least once a year, my Dad or Mom would call me outside and together we would stand and watch as the Northern Lights filled the sky. The Northern Lights are a part of Canada I will always cherish because of all the memories that surround them. Every time I see them glowing in the sky, I remember all the times I gazed up at them in awe with my family and friends.

Reflection

This is a picture I took at my farm a few years ago. I love this picture because it captures that magical time when the sun is just setting, and everything looks so serene and peaceful. Saskatchewan sunsets are unparralleled. We are the land of the living skies, and I think this picture shows you just how beautiful our skies can be. The main reason I chose this picture was because it is of my home. No matter where I go in the world, I know that every time I see a the sun setting in the sky I will think of this picture. I will think of home.
