set of cows! Now, that being said, I’m going to put one thought inyour mind before you think that I’m just boasting, or puffing my ownchest out about my own cattle. I’m not telling you they are the bestset of cattle I’ve seen in my travels across Canada (and I do getaround!), I will tell you they are just as good as any of the best cowsout there. The biggest thing I want to stress, though, is this... Thisset of cows, bred heifers and heifer calves is for sale on the 14th ofOctober, those others are not and therein lies the difference. Yourcows will be at home in your pastures doing their thing – our set ofBrylor Ranch winter calvers... they will be at Stauffer Ranches await-ing your appraisal later that afternoon at the Heritage Inn in PincherCreek on the big screen! These are being offered for sale this dayand, believe me folks, this day offers a lot of gifts to the Red Anguscommunity!

The COWS are all A.I.’ed to Assassin and cleaned up to NextStep. The HEIFERS are A.I.’ed to Tommy Jack and cleaned up withRough Cut. The HEIFER CALVES... well, let’s just leave it at theyhave to be seen to be appreciated in the flesh!

This is it... this is all of ‘em in our winter calving program. I’m notinclined to use the word, “dispersal”, of a group but it sort of is...Take advantage of this situation we are in right now. There is a lot ofman hours in this group stretching back a lot of years. The cattle will

be on display at Stauffers Test Facility north of Pincher Creek andsteaks and the beer cooler will be the order Friday night and Saturday

at noon. Then onto the videos... Big Mark’s TV’s at the Heritage Inn at 3:00p.m. on October 14th.

We sampled this excellent young A.I. sire pretty well last year, I’d say. He caughtmy eye because of his fresh, different pedigree and excellent length and profile. Hisfirst calves look sharp and crisp and certainliy calved well, mostly out of heifers.Plans were to use him again this A.I. season but then we bought a bull, Assassin,and finally got the Tommy Jack semen into our country. I do believe here at Brylor we have a herd bull battery in these Reference Siresthat is as good as any set of herd bulls anywhere. That’s a big statement, I know,but top to bottom these bulls are fresh, exciting, not overused and they are certainlylooking the part so far. I traveled to Montana last spring (2016) with Dave Callawayand found this bull at Vic Wesphal’s. He needs to be seen in color because he’s gotall the moving parts in all the right places – his feet, his color, his pedigree, hisprofile and his muscle. It’s all there and more... The big downside, for us, to sell this group of cows on October 14th in PincherCreek is to never see a cow like this hit her stride here.
