The 12th. A short drive to heaven. “You hit like a girl”. TEEING UP THE BOYS SINCE 1889. If you can’t, come anyway. If you answered yes then you could be a New Zealand champion. People will worship your skills and beg for your signature. You will endorse pet foods, open hardware stores, and become a household name, in some households. If this sounds like you, get your biggest club out and gather a team of four who can drive and putt and know how to party. We’ve brought the ultimate social game to life in the heart of Tui-land, so assemble your finest team of fellas for the classic boys day out. In a massive community effort Mangatainoka will witness the biggest thing since Muldoon’s ‘Think Big’ projects, and they were very large. It will be hard to keep your eyes or hands off the ball for the entire day. With a Tui in your hand and a ball flying off your club, we’ll lay the foundations for an unforgettable day in the heart of the Wairarapa. It’s a 12 hole tournament! Played over 2 “interesting courses” in and around Mangatainoka. We know that you boys get a little tired now and your concentration span is a little shorter than it once was. Not because of age of course, but because this time the Tui Brewery girls will be here. It’s a day packed with action, fun and a few surprises. As if you needed another excuse for a boy’s weekend playing golf, the 12th is at the Tui Brewery! The 12th.A short drive to heaven.“You hit like a girl”.

With a Tui in your hand and a ball flying off your club, we’ll

lay the foundations for an unforgettable day in the heart of the Wairarapa.

TEEING UP THE BOYS SINCE 1889.

TIMETABLE: SATURDAY: 5 MARCH 20158.30 - 9.15 AM: COURSE – PAHIATUA GOLF COURSE• Tui HQ will be serving Bacon & Egg sandwiches between 8.00 - 9.00am.

• Registration at the Pahiatua Golf Club. Each team will be allocated a starting hole. Those who pay first will get the closer starting holes.

• Meet at the Pahiatua Golf Course, this gives your team time to go through the last of their stretching exercises, take a Panadol, rinse the eyes with Clear Eyes decide which ball to use and do everything that you don’t see Tiger do.

• 9 holes along the PGC and 3 challenging holes coming home – a short cut through the paddocks, which includes the famous par 8 and the final hole over the Mangatainoka River to the brewery.

Please note we will be finishing at the Tui Brewery. So those of you that don’t want to walk the 900m to pick up your car after the golf, we will be running a shuttle from Tui Brewery to the golf club from 8am to 9pm. This will save you hassles later.

9.30 - 2.30 PM:• Shotgun start. Obviously when someone fires any sort firearm it is time to start doing something, so today we will play golf.

• The course will take you through true farm country, alongside the river and over the famous Mangatainoka River to the final green in front of the Tui Brewery tower.

• The course will include longest drive on the famous (well it is now) Mangatainoka river par eight, Closet to the pin and the Haggle Hole. These will be clearly marked.

2.30 PM ONWARDS:• The Tui Brewery girls will have cooked up a storm for lunch, with the local livestock donating their soul for the occasion. The rabbits

may be starved somewhat, as we will even give you some greens as well.

• Teams finish at the Tui HQ for beers and festivities.

• 4.00pm - Prize giving. For those of you who have survived the challenge so far and more importantly never actually won anything this is your last chance.

• 6pm Tui HQ closes, this enables the lovely Tui Brewery girls a chance to get some sleep, so that they can continue to brew the beer for the rest of us, it’s the chance to reflect on the missed putts, wayward drive or how you can get away for rugby season and next years Mangatainoka Open.

THINGS THAT YOU NEED TO KNOWe Mangatainoka, Pahiatua and Tui Brewery – are all together. Come on you know where it is, or get a map.

e NEW COURSE - PAHIATUA GOLF COURSE • 9 holes on the Pahiatua Golf club.

e OLD COURSE - MANGATAINOKA CROSS COUNTRY COURSE • 3 holes with such obstacles as electric fences, black berry, cattle and fresh cow pats. Holes such as “Skins Revenge”

and the “MRFC dead ball area” will make for a interesting day. Along with the par 8 and the final hole over the Mangatainoka River, then home to the Tui brewery.

• For the more adventurous golfer (hint you will need more balls than you can steal from the driving range).

e Additional competitions will be held on course, such as longest drive, closest to the pin, haggle hole, Tui Brewery girls revenge and some other we haven’t thought of yet!

e The tournament is limited to the first 40 teams to register, as the course will not allow more people, if we want a quick free flowing day.

e The game will be 4 Ball Best Ball with 3 players. To explain this briefly, everyone tee’s off and the best tee shot is chosen. The person who hit that shot does not play the next shot. After the next shot has been taken, then once again the best shot is taken and that player does not play a shot. The first player can also play a shot at that stage. This will carry on until the ball finally after so much punishment decides to hide in the cup. Where someone picks up the ball and starts it all over again.

e Transport & Accommodation Information as part of your organisational requirements, you will need to find a way of getting to Mangatainoka and more importantly home again. There is limited accommodation at Mangatainoka, Pahiatua or Woodville. If you want to have a look for accommodation options, check out www.tuibrewery.co.nz – brewery page lists options for accommodation locally. Remember, the best Tui drinkers are the alive ones, so please DON’T drink and drive.

e You’re all individuals – thus you can supply your own refreshments while on the course.

e Team Composition: Each squad is made up of 4 players, of which 1 should know something about playing golf.

e Time: Tee off time is at 09.30 and the golf should take 5 hours.

e NEW COURSE: • To facilitate 160 players both sides of the Pahiatua Golf Course will be used along with some holes especially

designed for this event for the initial 9 holes.

• Course Management: To ensure that the course remains in a beautiful condition all shots will be off a tee.

e Due to the number of players on the course, if you lose a ball, search for 30 seconds then walk away or leave it - the Scots are still making them.

e Local rules may be enforced. In other words if we have any unforeseen situations we will make a rule to cover ourselves.

e Serious Golfers If you want to stay for the evening please do, then you can book a full 18 holes for the next day – an additional cost of $35.00. This will give you green fees for 18 holes, a tour of Tui brewery, 3 beers and another glass to keep (deal). Payment can be made at Tui HQ on the Saturday or after 9.30 on the Sunday morning.
