CAMPUS TOUR:There’s no right or wrong way to see Marquette’s campus. It’s beautiful any time of year, and its medium size makes it easy for students to get around. We’ve put together a short walking tour with some notable locations. If you’re interested in attending Marquette and want a guided tour, our Office of Undergraduate Admissions can tell you more. 61 Alumni Memorial Union is the place to get a bite to eat, buy some Marquette gear, do your banking or just hang out. It’s also where you’ll find our Chapel of the Holy Family and the offices of some important student organizations, including our student government.

34 This engineering marvel is Engineering Hall, home of the Opus College of Engineering. The building’s 115,000 square feet of space includes 38 laboratories and more than 120 sensors built in for students to study the structural behavior of the building.

33 Tennis, anyone? Or swimming, basketball, volleyball, weightlifting and more? It’s all here at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium and Recreation Center.

26 St. Joan of Arc Chapel is a 15th-century French chapel featuring a stone that legend says was touched by St. Joan of Arc herself and whose temperature is cooler than that of the other chapel stones. It’s also the site of our popular Tuesday night Mass.

20 Raynor Memorial Libraries is the central hub for discovery and learning on campus with unique archival collections, including the J.R.R. Tolkien collection. Students have plenty of places to study and can get a cup of coffee at the Brew at the Bridge — a popular spot during exam week.

19 Cudahy Hall houses classrooms and lecture halls, and is home to Marquette’s IT Services.

13 Haggerty Museum of Art is considered one of the country’s leading university art museums. The museum features rotating exhibits and a permanent collection, including works by Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall and Andy Warhol.

11 When you’re standing in front of our historic Marquette Hall, look up and you’ll see our iconic tower, home to our 48-bell carillon, which rings each quarter hour.

9 Church of the Gesu is on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s also a church where many of our alumni get married.

MARQUETTE AND MILWAUKEEMarquette is located near downtown Milwaukee and just one mile from Lake Michigan. Our location in a vibrant city provides our students with access to great restaurants, shopping, internships and job opportunities.

It’s easy to get around Marquette’s campus, which is separated into two distinct halves by Wisconsin Ave. We call these our Learning and Living sides.

Learning — The south side is where you’ll find our academic buildings. That makes getting from one class to the next pretty easy. Unless you dawdle, you will never be late.

Living — The north side is where you’ll find the residence halls and the Alumni Memorial Union. And pretty much everything else you need outside of an A on your paper.

Worth noting:

A. The Commons, our newest state-of-the-art residence hall with two towers and room for 890 students, makes leaving home a lot easier.

B. Where you’ll find the majority of off-campus dining. If you’re hungry, you’ll find something yummy here and no need to do the dishes.

C. Sendik’s Fresh2Go is where to go when you want some fresh food, or to fill your pantry. It’s the coolest grocery store in town.

D. Got an idea? Bring it to the 707 Hub. This collaborative space is our newest innovation space on campus.

E. Cheer here! Going to men’s basketball games is one of our favorite traditions. The Fiserv Forum is where the action is.

F. Upperclassmen live off campus, but just off campus. Across the street to be exact.

G. Marquette has two recreational facilities — the Rec Plex and the Helfaer Tennis Stadium and Recreation Center. Between both, there is access to swimming, gymnasiums, tennis courts and more.
