Mrs Bernard Keyser of Ottoman

Virginia He earned an A A degree

from Cornpbell College in 1943 and

a BA degree from Woke Forest Uni-

versity in 1945 - graduating cum laude

He was awarded o B D degree from

Sou thern Baptist Seminary in 1948 and

o Th D in 1955

He was married to the former

Betty Bell of Statesville in 1945 Our

hearts shared his sadness in her death in March of this year (1972) Three children

ore a part of this family group

Dr Keyser was a student pastor in Indiana while at the Seminary His

major studies have been Bible and church history He was pastor of Hollsboro

Baptist Church 1951-1957 and at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church 1957-1959

He also served as- Moderator of Columbus Baptist Association for two years in early

1950s

Since 1959 Dr Keyser has been an Associate Professor in the Department

of Religion at c~mpbell College (his alma mater) He was elected for membership

in ADK (Leadership fraternity)

He hos continued active in the preaching ministry - serving through

1967-68 as founding pastor of Memorial Baptist Church recently established in the

Campbell College community

Dr Donald Keyser served as interim iastor i n 1962 and led our orsh ip

on other occasions He is a native of Ottoman Virginia and a graduate of

Lively fljgh School He holds degrees from Campbell LJnjversity Wake forest

University and Southern 13aptjst Theological Seminary Whj le at Southern

he served as student nastor of West ~ork Baptist Church of Madison Indiana

Before assumi ng his present posit ion as Howard Pofesso r of Religion at Camp be 11

he served pastorates in Halsboro North Carolina and llallas North Carol ina

Since coning to Campbell he has fil l ed the pulpits of numerous churches in

North Carolina He is a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Bu ies Creek

Ur Keyser is the father of two sons a ltlaughter a stepdaughter and the

grandfather of eight His first wife the former Betty Sue Bell dieltl in 1972
