01URBAN FARM AND SCHOOLThe William Pierce Middle School is one of a long list of schools in the City of Philadelphia that have been furloughed. Analysis of the the immediate neighborhood, Graduate Hospital, proved viable a hackerspace focused on sustainability. The hackespace is supported by a vertical farm and shared through a street level market.

02TOWER EXERCISEIt is important to demonstrate different methods of stylistic representation. The tower model is a demonstration of this exercise. The tower was modeled in SketchUp and post processed in Photoshop. Both realistic views with shadows and hidden line views were utilized to create sections and plans with phantom extensions so that the massing of the tower could be completely understood. It is important to understand the towers appearance when illuminated at night and glistening in sunlight. As well to understand the roll the tower plays at both the ground level and in the city skyline.

1003WATER CLOSETThe Schuylkill River Trail runs along Kelly Drive past the East Falls neighborhood. Other than commercial establishments restrooms are not accessible at this point in the trail. The Water Closet Installation cantilevers over the river. It provides a rest stop, information booth, and a

lightweight canvas and steel. The canvas allows natural light to diffuse into the interior space and core-ten steel provides structure, ornament, and privacy.

1204PHILADELPHIA BIKE HUBThe City of Philadelphia has an exponentially increasing community of bicycle commuters, but little infrastructure to provide commuters with a place to change for work and safely store their bicycles. Paine’s Park is a location central to Philadelphia’s Center City. The Philadelphia Bike Hub located at Paine’s park provides cyclists with these services. Sheltered bicycle parking, locker rooms with showers, and a full service bicycle shop become immediately available to the commuters. As well the space can be utilized by cyclists and skateboarders that regular Paine’s Park and Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River Trail. The Bike Hub’s aesthetic is as much a response to pop culture as Philadelphia’s hipster population.

above. The studio a block to the rear of the row home densely insulated for daily use. The living spaces stacked toward the front of the row home to provide a view of the street. The roof of the rowhome is structural glass allowing for greater thermal loads to be absorbed by the row home. The roof features a thermal pool that supports the radiant heat system of the living spaces. Excess water is collected in a cistern below. A combination of wood and steel were used in this project to stay true to vernacular and further contextualize the row home within the City of Seattle.

06WAREHOUSE RENOVATIONof Seattle and Amazon seeking out property to begin the manufacturing of their drones led to the Amazon Drone Port. The existing fac-tory was renovated to include space for education, manufacturing, and short term living. The existing concrete foundation, wood structure, and brick facades were preserved.

design. Increased ceiling heights, two story atriums, and light wells allow for the circulation of drones. Thermal massing, green roofs, and repurposed materials promote sustainability. The Amazon Drone Port is a space where employees can be students and learn the future of the company.

07BARTRAM’S AMPHITHEATREBartram’s Garden, a hidden botanical garden on the southernmost banks of the Schuylkill River is looking to expand their infrastructure. Green Plan Philadelphia and the Fairmount Park Commission have proposed an extension of the Sckuylkill River Trail that would pass through Bartram’s Garden. Bartram’s employees feel it is imperative that they increase their revenue generating infrastructure so that they can afford to maintain their property as it’s yearly usage jumps from 40,000 people to 400,000 in the next 4 years. I have proposed the construction of an organic amphitheatre that would arise in the meadow portion of their property. The tiers

and lawn. A transitional growth forest and rain gardens would gradate through the seating. The stage would be a graded berm with a transparent wood trelace to provide shade. The amphitheatre captures both views of the City of Philadelphia and the Schuylkill River.
