For fall 2015, I.O. Metro was faced with the challenge of both replacing their existing vendor base for factory-direct case goods and evolving their current look in a new direction. In order to do this, I identified and engaged 7 new factory direct sources and developed concepts for a number of new collections which will comprise a significant amount of I.O. Metro’s assortment.
Here is a look at some of what was created during this process.

The Elixir collection combines wood with a dark charcoal wash and brass elements to create dramatic pieces that convey a sense of romance and mystery.
The sideboard’s knot pattern is a cast alu-minum overlay with brass plating.
Coordinating with the sideboard are a classic campaign dresser with brass hard-ware a dining table with a brass cladded top.

The Inwell collection combines a subtly distressed black and white finish with
antiqued brass hardware, extending the black and gold motif established with the
Elixir collection.
Both the sideboard and the hexagon cof-fee table feature raised, geometric convex
-reliefs that are created by joining multiple planks of wood together.

One of the objectives during the development of the fall assorment was
to recreate I.O. Metro’s “staple” wood collection.
For years, the collection with both the largest store footprint and the largest
SKU count was a traditional collection with a warm walnut finish.
Based on I.O. Metro’s evolving customer base, I reonsidered what this basic
collection should look like.
The result was a collection that blended clean lines and contemporary finishing
with the rustic roughhewn nature of handmade products made from
solid wood. I was able to do this while maintaining the competitive pricepoints
I.O. Metro was known for.

Another exercise in mixing materials in unique and exciting ways, the Exoskeleton collection combines the beauty of natural teak with bronze lattice works.
The sideboard also has a base with a brass finish to extend the touches of gold metal-lics througout the store.
