CONSUMPTION CONTROL AND MONITORINGHome Sapiens allows real consumption management by its system by setting daily consumption profiles which can be different for each day of the week. You can select when they allow your home to consume more, and when to consume less thus taking advantage of the special terms offered by energy suppliers with time band pricing and by checking the actual consumption curve on the terminal compared with the ideal profile set; this allows you to eliminate unnecessary waste without reducing the level of well-being and comfort on a daily basis.

TIMER MANAGEMENTHome Sapiens allows you to free the user from performing repetitive functions linked to particular times of the day with the timer that allows you to automate sequences of executables operations in the absence of a physical user. Improving the energy performance classincreases the value of your house.

• Class D - “Non-energy efficient”: includes traditional systems without automation, which are not efficient from the standpoint of energy consumption;

• Class C - “Standard”: includes automated systems with traditional control equipment or BUS systems. Expresses the minimum requirements established by the directive;

• Class B - “Advanced”: includes systems controlled with a BUS automation system, but also equipped with intelligent, coordinated management of functions and individual utility systems;

• Class A - “High energy performance”: as in Class B, but with automated control capability that is so precise and complete that the system offers particularly high energy performance.

THE EN15232 STANDARD

Installing a Home Sapiens in your house does more than save you money directly, as we’ve seen. Home Sapiens also provides an indirect financial return because it increases the value of your house by improving its energy performance class,

as indicated in Italian law (Legis. Decree no. 192 dated 19 August 2005 and Legis. Decree no. 311 dated 29 December 2006, with subsequent additions/modifications) and international legislation (The Kyoto Protocol, European Directive 2010/31/EC*,

EU directive 2002/91/EC on the energy performance of buildings, etc.). The value of the house is further enhanced because of its increased comfort, wellness and

safety - factors that increase the monetary value of the structure when it is sold.

* The European Directive 2010/31/EC requires that European member countries recommend and promote intelligent domestic automation systems in new buildings and renovations, in order to

save energy and maximize efficiency. Each European country establishes requirements for energy management and for the control systems installed to implement it.

This standard creates four different classes of energy performance that apply to the automation systems in a building. These classes are valid for both residential and non-residential applications:

Mitho is the innovative colour touch screen multipurpose terminal, designed for the management and control of electric home automation, security and the video entry system. It offers a new user-system interface concept, focusing on simplicity and easy access to the various functions available. The new terminal has lots of new features, including the LCD touch screen display in 4,3” wide screen 16:9 format. The large display offers full screen navigation of the various menus that enhance user interaction with the system. Menu navigation is simple and intuitive, based on colour codes that facilitate the association of the functions with the colours. GRAPHIC MAPS

The system of maps that are used as the graphic interface makes it easy and quick to access and utilize the functions. The installer can position the symbol of the function to be controlled wherever he desires on each map. The graphic maps can be programmed using an SDCard, or remotely (over a LAN and the Mitho bus, with PCMitho2.0 software). The maps can also be used over the Web with Gateway Domotico OHETH1 on Apple iOS, Android™ e PC devices.

HOME AUTOMATION BUS

Bpt home automation systems use a bus for a communication on a twisted unpolarised pair with very low voltage that physically and logically links to all devices connected: for example it allows electrical appliances to be controlled (lights, motors, solenoid valves etc.) separately from common control devices (switches, buttons etc.) of any civil series, increasing the level of electrical safety compared with traditional electromechanical solutions.

The system’s architecture requires a network configuration with‘FREE TOPOLOGY’ and ‘DISTRIBUTED INTELLIGENCE’:the first allows maximum versatility in system constructions without restrictions also if it is necessary to adapt pre-existing systems. The second ensures very high reliability against any loss of service which only restricts the functionality of the device involved and guarantees incomparable flexibility for the implementation of control strategies: due to the intelligence inside each of them, the devices can independently process the signals transmitted on the bus and react according to the programmed configuration.

Bpt uses the protocol defined by standard ISO/IEC – 14908 “Open Data Communication in Building Automation, Controls and Building Management” (Lonworks), the most widespread in the world for applications for home & building automation (tens of millions of nodes installed with this technology in the whole of 2008).

PROGRAMMING

A plus of the Bpt home automation system is the simplicity of the software configuration,

an essential tool for the installer to transfer the operating logics designed

in the devices in action.The configuration can be easily carried out also

off-line or without a PC in which the software resides or physically connected to the system: the design of the configuration may therefore be done virtually, even before the real system is physically available. The need for a physical

link to the devices is required only when it is decided to shift the programming onto them.

With the programming of the system performed via software, at the same time, without any

additional effort, the user interface on the home automation terminal is also configured

The Bpt home automation system enables the user to communicate with his house remotely to check system status, control the equipment and receive notifications of events by text messaging.

Remote management can also save money and energy. For example, it allows the user to postpone or cancel the activation of functions when their automatic programming no longer applies because of changes in the user’s needs.

Note: In systems equipped with the Proxinet intrusion detection system with GSM module (contained in the central control unit), text messages for controlling the entire home automation and security system can be sent directly to the intrusion detection system control unit. In systems without intrusion detection, remote control with text messages is possible with the OH/GSM module (67100600).
