Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry byoffering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across thecountry. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-con�dence, and learnabout literary history and contemporary life. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the NationalEndowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies.

Becky Yarbrough Cambridge Crest of HonorCongratulations to Counselor Ms. Olivia Beck, our October Crest of Honor recipient. Ms. Becknominated by the staff at Cambridge High School, "Ms. Beck does not limit herself to just the studentsthat are part of her K-O caseload. She is always willing to help whenever asked, regardless of thesituation. She admits when she does not have the answer, and will always follow up and �nd theanswer. Note: The cafeteria will have lunch available for students after the last exam period on Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday. Buses will depart at 12:45 pm.

Late Check-in Guidelines - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday:The �rst exam periods on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (December 18-20) are also lunch periods.During lunch periods, students who have lunch will remain in the cafeteria and will use the time tostudy for �nal exams.

Your student may arrive late rather than attend during his/her lunch period. If your student is arrivinglate on one of the half-day �nal exam days, he/she must arrive by 10:35 am. Students arriving late willremain in the cafeteria until it is time to move to the 10:40 am exam. Students riding in carpool mustenter through the cafeteria doors on the north side of the building (facing Kings Ridge). Studentdrivers must enter through the cafeteria doors. Do not drop your student off at the front doors as theywill be directed to the cafeteria side entrance. Students cannot be in the academic halls during testing.

Missed Exams:Students are expected to be present and on time on all testing days. If a student must miss a �nalexam due to illness, the parent/guardian must call the Attendance O�ce on the day of the absence inorder for the student to take his/her exam on the make-up days. If the Attendance O�ce is not alerted,the absence will be considered unexcused.

All other missed exams must receive prior approval by the student's grade-level administrator. Toobtain approval, the parent/guardian should email the administrator by Friday, December 13. Pleaseinclude the date(s) to be missed, the subject name(s), the teacher's name(s), and the reason for themissed exam.

Makeup exams will take place in the Student Center and will occur on:Friday, January 3, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm (the Last exam must begin at 2:00 pm

Checking Students Out:Students will not be allowed to check out while exams are in progress. Classrooms cannot bedisturbed, and students will not be allowed in the academic halls. For a student to check out prior tothe end of the day, please have your student bring a note to the Attendance O�ce at the beginning ofthe school day. Due to the volume, the Attendance O�ce cannot accept emails or phone calls at check-out time.

Economics Winter End of Course Testing(EOC)Students completing the EOC course for Economics �rst semester willtake the EOC on Wednesday, December 11. The testing day is a GROWLday, so students will need to report to campus no later than 8:05 am.

Testing will take place on FCS issued devices. Students must perform a "restart" on their device toensure your device has the latest testing software.

Second Semester PAWS ElectionsPAWS elections for the second semester are now open. Students whowant to keep both of their current PAWS classes do not need to completethe online form. A few of the new offerings include The Philosophy ofStar Wars, Off the Grid (socializing with no devices), ESPN’s “30 for 30”(the sports documentaries), and by popular demand, a second “TheO�ce” hit show PAWS will be added as well.

Cambridge Counseling10th Grade Naviance and Bridge Bill Training:10th graders in World History classes will be trained tomorrow,December 10, on Naviance and Bridge Bill activities. They will allcomplete a Career Interest and Aptitude Test, save three careers in their account and learn about DualEnrollment.

Learn About College Admissions:Join Rick Clark, Director of Undergraduate Admission at Georgia Tech and author of "The Truth AboutCollege Admission," and Jed Apperouth, Founder and President of Apperouth Tutoring, for a freesession on how to navigate the college admissions process with con�dence.

UGA Early Action StatisticsThe Early Action decision from UGA was recently released to prospective students. UGA also releasedthe following statistics regarding these decisions. Class of 2020 GraduationOur graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 will be held on Saturday,May 23, at 10:30 am. Please note that this date is being held for us;however, it will not be �nalized until later in the year. Again, this year, allNorth Fulton County High Schools will hold graduation ceremonies atAmeris Bank Amphitheatre located in Alpharetta. We look forward toupholding our tradition of a beautiful and digni�ed graduation and areexcited to take advantage of this spacious venue with ample seating for our Cambridge families.

As we get closer to our graduation date, we will work closely with the graduation committee and PTSAto �nalize the details of our graduation and other senior events. All information regarding seniorevents and graduation will be posted in the Seniors and Graduation section of our website.

To participate in the graduation ceremony, seniors can purchase their Graduation Package* atwww.GABalfour.com. This package is mandatory for our graduating seniors at the cost of $110. Thepackage includes the following, and separate items will not be available for purchase.
